Suppose I have a model that I no longer need. I cannot delete it, so instead I rename it to [Deleted]. Then later, if I would like to upload a new model, I upload to a [Deleted] model, then rename to a new name. Is this discouraged?
This is an odd thing to worry about being a “bad” practice…
( In simpler words: No )
No, while some players might notice and dislike this, reusing models is everywhere in the industry, I mean if you had to make models for each individual garbage can and traffic cone, you’d lose your own sanity, so no, I’d say do it when possible to save time, try changing a few colors and shapes but use it as a base to make a new-ish model, or just copy+paste it.
I wouldn’t think so. If you mean saving one model over a previous model and changing the name there shouldn’t be any issue. The model would have an old ID number, but that’s it.
