In Need of Some Feedback! [Updated]

Howdy everyone! Since November ma and a couple of friends have been working on a game called Spheres Of Fury - which is a reboot of the original Survive The Spheres by ss1122. We just finished up the core mechanics of the game (although some aren’t enabled yet) and would like to see what other developers would like to say!

Things that are not enabled at the moment:

  • Sphere types (Different spheres with different properties)
  • Events (Randomly chosen conflicts that affect the round)
  • Ticket Booth (People can pay Robux to affect the round in a specific way I.e. Enabling Fury Mode- A much harder version of the game)
  • Different game modes

Any constructive criticism is welcome and we’re open to new ideas. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE:
We considered your feedback and made adjustments to how the spheres behave! Here’s how they have changed:

  • Instead of spawning as far away as possible from all players, they now spawn withing 30-40 studs of the player. This change was made so player’s wouldn’t be able to hide out anywhere
  • The spheres are now faster than the player. They have a springiness to them that affects their speed while turning, kinda like an offset or cartoon factor.
  • The acceleration of the spheres has been changed from 5 to 8
  • Bound checks to ensure they stay in the arena at all times

We’re considering using Network Ownership on the spheres to make the game more enjoyable but we aren’t too sure how much it will help.

Again, thank you for the wonderful feedback and I hope you all enjoy playing what we made!

Why not Balls of Fury

The memories…

Perhaps make the spheres go towards slightly in front of where the player is going to make it harder to dodge? At the moment its pretty easy to just walk around them

seconding this

make them intercept you or something because you can just make laps around the map and literally be invincible

Yeah, so like the other folks, I found the game far too easy to be fun. Maybe more game mechanics are needed, e.g., when the ball gets close to you, it shoots in your direction, requiring you to jump (give the player some indication that a ball is about to shoot).

The builds in this game are wild, though, and I loved them. It was so hard to identify what was going on in the lobby (was that the arena in the center?!), but it was fun to run around.

I like how someone recorded their own version of “mm fresh meat”, top work

My throat hurt for a few hours after doing it. I was pretty happy with the outcome though

They have spring movement which means it’ll force itself at you at certain points. We recently made changes to the spheres jumping ability and that noticably affected their springieness. A few changes to the numbers and they’ll be much MUCH more furious.

Talk about subconscious naming. Never even crossed my mind lol
