So there’s a new price floor for 110 robux on hairs which have a face mask on them. However, many hairs with masks are still at a price floor of 60. It makes it unfair as users are obviously more likely to purchase the items priced at almost x2 cheaper. As a solution maybe add the category for when publishing instead of relying completely on ai to price it as right now it’s really inconsistent
The same issue can be seen in many hair accessories in the best selling sort. I hope Roblox properly categorizes them as full masks and adjusts their prices accordingly, because this gives some creators a massive advantage by making their items 45.4545…% cheaper than they are supposed to be (60 Robux instead of the intended 110 Robux), and users are more likely to buy the cheaper versions, as you can see:
(i also think that instead of trying to implement more accurate detection here, roblox could update the miscategorization rule to prohibit full mask accessories from being submitted as hair, which would eliminate the issue entirely. after all, it doesn’t really make sense for full masks to be sold under hair..)
This is the sales chart between 2 of my groups, the top chart is the affected group, while the other was mostly unaffected as most items are still priced around 55-60. You can clearly see a big decline in sales where the red line is.
Either the automatic categorization needs to be fixed soon, or it needs to be removed from affected items until it can accurately detect categories. If price floors are going to enforced, it should be fair across all items
Thanks for the message! I’ll do a pass over this page to update these items to be full masks - it definitely won’t be comprehensive in fixing all items that are incorrectly classified as hair, but it will address many of the items that you’ve brought up on this page.
Feel free to link the catalog links for any additional items as well! We’re actively looking into improvements in our auto-detection process, and having examples that were missed is always helpful.
hate to be that guy, but I think a few groups that took advantage of this gap (since full masks are much cheaper when not detected) to boost many of their items into best sellers could be prioritized, such as:
The items available in the groups mentioned above, which should be re-categorized as full masks but are currently incorrectly categorized under hair, will be provided below. I just realized how long the list is (even with just these three groups), which really shows how poorly the auto-detection is done.
also, there were more “example” links than the ones provided below in those three groups, but due to the character limit on the DevForum, I can’t send the rest; however, you can always check the group stores in those groups
