In our game Aftermath we currently limit the player-count of our game to 50 players. If we increase this count, players can no longer use voice chat. We want 100 player-count to fulfill the vision we currently have for the game. Why is the player-count required to be set to this number for voice chat to work? Why can it not be increased?
From my view, without knowing the backend, if it is a network concern, I would not mind if there is a soft limit of 50 active voice connections active at a time, or in a localized area.
Being unable to raise the player-count without losing this feature is a total bummer.
Would also like this feature. My game, Hitman Card Game saw great benefit from having 100 player servers. Since you have to search for open rooms to get into a match, the higher player limit got more rooms made and more people playing much faster.
I think their internal reasoning is that 100 players with VC enabled would be too hectic. In the context of my game though, rooms are capped at 10 players max, so at any given moment only 10 players could be speaking at once. In the moment, players liked the change. But sadly wasn’t worth losing voice chat, which is an integral part of the game.
Some games actually allow 100 Players now, as seen with MIC UP - Roblox with 100 Players, and [ ] On Tap 18+ - Roblox with 68 Players. You have to be whitelisted to be set this amount, no idea how to get access to it though, hopefully eventually it’ll be released to the public
We would really appreciate having a 100-player server size for our voice chat game. It would benefit our game a lot and help our community grow. Thank you! German MeetUp | Play on Roblox
