As a Roblox developer it is currently too hard to publish plugins in a timely manner unless you are ID-verified (and even then, 10 is very steep).
Two plugins a month is too harsh of a restriction on developers who want to share their plugins with their friends or the community, here’s why:
- If you toggle a plugin on/offsale, this counts towards your limit of 2. Because there is no way to share a plugin with a specific user (like if you wanted to invite a small group of beta-testers), the only way to limit plugin access is to toggle it on sale briefly and then put it offsale after the intended recipient has installed it.
- This limit restricts the ability for developers to rapidly make small tools, as many quality of life plugins might only take a few days to write, but get limited from public release by 2 plugins per month limit.
- What if I want to publish a bunch of my personal plugins? If I have 6 of them, I would have to wait 3 months! And that’s assuming I don’t toggle on/offsale any other plugins during that time.
I request a new limit of 10 plugins for an unverified account and 20 for a verified one, putting the range more in-line with the other limits imposed on asset publishing. Or, alternatively, charge a small Robux cost per asset to publish beyond their monthly limits.
