Hi there, we are currently encountering an issue with the load of TopBarApp in CoreGui.
A while back, it was more or less a random issue that happened rarely from time to time.
However, recently certain account has had this issue, which causes the game UI to be partly functional while the rest is broken.
With the same device, switching accounts works fine (most of the time).
What would be the cause of this issue? And how do we prevent it? As far as I know, there’s no reference to TopBarApp at all in our codebase, unless there’s a possibility that something in the code gets into a race condition with the load of the CoreGUI.
Cheers,
Duggoman
PS. The following images are from our users of both games, Yeet A Friend and Gym Star Simulator, both occured the same issue.
From what I see, it happened with accounts that may have a lot of items in their account, and it happened randomly upon logging into the game, but it’s slowly becoming a certainty for some accounts now.
Hello! We’ve managed to find the cause of the this issue, and have a fix on the way!
For further context, this warning is a result of how we load our code when joining an experience. These WaitForChilds get called early in the loading process, and get resolved once their associated scripts finish loading. For most users, this all works fine without issue.
However, when joining an experience with lots of assets to load in, it may take over 5 seconds for the load to complete, thus triggering the “infinite yield” warning. In fact, if you have a really poor internet connection, you can even get this error on a baseplate.
The good news is that this warning doesn’t actually break anything. All of the WaitForChilds do eventually resolve, it just might take a little while. Still, we understand that it’s annoying to see them pop up in your logs! We have a fix coming soon that’ll make the WaitForChilds a little more patient, and that should clear up all the remaining warnings.
