InsertService.LoadAsset() returning false "User is not authorized to access Asset" rejects.

Hi Roblox Team,

We have recently been receiving error reports indicating that some users are unable to access group-owned assets within an experience owned by the same group.

For models, the reported error is:

“User is not authorized to access Asset”

This does not appear to be a general configuration or permission issue on our end, as the assets load correctly for most users. We also tested the experience using newly created accounts, and the affected assets loaded successfully without any issues.

However, under “Creator Dashboard → Monitoring → Error Reports”, we are seeing reports from a subset of users encountering this authorization error. When this occurs, essential models fail to load, which can prevent parts of the experience from functioning correctly.

We are observing what appears to be a similar intermittent issue with group-owned animations. The reported error is:

“Failed to load animation with sanitized ID. Animation failed to load”

Again, these animations normally load correctly for the majority of users, but some users appear to encounter failures that are recorded in the Error Reports section.

Could you please investigate whether there is an intermittent authorization or asset delivery issue affecting group-owned models and animations?

The key points are:

  • The experience and affected assets are owned by the same group.
  • The assets work correctly for most users.
  • Newly created test accounts are also able to load them successfully.
  • Only a subset of users appear to encounter the authorization/loading failures.
  • The failures are visible in “Monitoring → Error Reports” and can affect assets essential to gameplay.

I’ve added specific animation Ids/model ids that seems to be affected by the issue.

Thank you.
