Here is the code:
for i = 60,0,-1 do
game.StarterGui.StatusGui.TextLabel.Text = ("Intermission: "..i)
wait(1)
end
It will show up in the Gui but it will stay at “Intermission: 59” and will not countdown any further.
Here is the code:

You need to use PlayerGui not StarterGui. Try that and it will work.
local player = game.Players.LocalPlayer
for i = 60,0,-1 do
player.PlayerGui.StatusGui.TextLabel.Text = ("Intermission: "..i)
wait(1)
end
PlayerGui is where all the action happens. StarterGui is just the default place and doesn’t do anything except replicate over to to the PlayerGui.
Where is the PlayerGui? (30 Char)
Wait, do you mean I need to go into the player and change their Gui?
Its not located in the explorer, but it exists. It pops up when you test the game. (In players)
I’m not sure how I would go about doing that, do you think you could help me a little more?
Sorry I’m just very new to scripting and still trying to learn.
Here’s an image where the playergui is located.

So should I do something like StatusGui.Parent = PlayerGui ?
There’s this LocalPlayer property of Players that is only accessible by LocalScripts.
local LocalPlayer = game.Players.LocalPlayer
PlayerGui is a child of every single Player instance located inside the Players service. So to get a player’s PlayerGui, we’ll do:
local PlayerGui = LocalPlayer.PlayerGui
All you have to do is to put the GUI in the StarterGui.
You shouldn’t even be specifying PlayerGui for modifying a GUI, you should directly put the script under the GUI you want to modify and specify it using a variable.
local guiToModify = script.Parent
And then:
for i = 60,0,-1 do
guiToModify.TextLabel.Text = ("Intermission: "..i)
wait(1)
end
Try this this will help with the timer functioning.
The actual intermission
(Hope this helped!)
