Yeah, I avoided doing this, because we have a lot of info and I did not want to discourage people to read them, but apparently people want to know more :o
In addition to hiring, there are many fun activities in Developer Spawn.
For example
Developer of the Week
Developers can submit any creation under a week old, in the #âdotw-submissions and achieve the @ | DOTW role. Submissions are done during Monday to Friday. Voting is done throughout Saturday and the winner will be announced on 12AM Sunday.
Developers of the week winners will then be entered into the Developer of the Month contest, and win the @ | DOTM
This is something I also was confused on, how exactly do they handle scams? They claim that they have an anti-scam policy and practice in place but it doesnât become their problem when their âScam Investigatorsâ fail to properly do their job. The whole thing seems hazy to me and from what Iâve seen they havenât expanded upon your idea. In addition to that, their community operates in an unofficial capacity and so there is really no consequence to someone scamming as theyâre still relatively small.
The idea is nifty and itâs good to have more communities like the DevForum open, but I just need some extra clarification on the scam investigation part
The scammer will be banned, and be notified on various platforms of there behavior.
Being a third party thereâs only so much we can do when it comes to scammers. You as an individual still need to proceed with caution as we only provide the platform, we wonât join you in your dms.
I like the idea of this community and decided to participate, however, I was not very satisfied with their staff team as the scam investigator took my side almost instantly and then when the seller and I worked it out, it took about 4 different people for the ban to be lifted.
Decent community if you are looking to hire small time creators, but the staff team makes the experience not worth the effort. Youâre better off searching hidden developers for a developer.
I really see no use in this.
Several servers already have huge communities with experienced developers (Scripting Helpers, Hidden Developers, âŚ), and Iâm unsure why you would even attempt to start a new server with no meaning as it canât really contribute; âvarietyâ doesnât matter because pretty much everyone thatâs in your server would be on devforum or the other discords (especially considering when youâre literally advertising your discord on here).
Well, this is solely your opinion, we have many users who enjoy our server and find it fun and interesting.
The server is really friendly and helpful, they do a great job at making you feel welcomed. I highly recommend this server to any Developers & players seeking a place to meet new developers and take commissions !
I would like to contradict this, as you recently had a scam investigator who used racial slurs and your staff took over 30 minutes to moderate him after he was removed from his position.
This just gives more reason to go to already-established hubs such as Hidden Developers who are professional and moderate the chat quickly and effectively.
The midddleman can stop one person from scamming the other, but who is there to prevent the middleman from lying or scamming someone?
The middlemen is optional. You are to decide whether you would like to use the service or not, you can seek assistance from the middlemen to help you clear your doubts or verify your suspicions on someone. The middlemen is not directly involved in the process unless requested. Itâs all up to you whether to trust the middleman or not.
Sorry for your inconvenience. However, we are not robots. And one instance of mismanagement does not define an entire server for eternity.
Question.
- Why is this useful
- Why should we use this instead of the developer fourm?
- How can this improve for starters?
Iâm not attempting to claim as much, however, It brings up the points that lots of people have brought up here. Why this over an established community such as Hidden Developers?
- Most uses are the same as the forum with a few additional.
- We are asking you to use this instead of the forum, you can use it as an addition to broaden your search.
- For starters this is useful as mentioned before you can just join and start get to hiring immediately unlike the dev forum where you need to be accepted as member before you can make posts and replies.
Again we are not saying to choose us over any other community. You can use us along side others to broaden your search.
How many members do you guys already have?
I am sorry if this sounds like hate.
But here is word from me.
I had setup a forum site for Roblox Developers too, for people who are new to Roblox and who are experienced too, it was successful gotten around 800+ members. and great profit for server upkeeping and upgrades.
But I notice more people were leaving to for DevForum, and I do understand since its a much more matured site and trustworthy then any third party.
So keeping the site running for almost two years, of great success but hitting rock buttom.
I felt it was not worth running the site and shut it down. No longer I got the profits for server upkeep and maintenance and my staff, and it was just not worth anymore.
Edit: I notice you are using Digital Ocean, if your goal is to have huge user base.
Donât.
For my Forum site I rented a server rack from a Data center and used own servers, for upkeep and security, and making sure to have a reliable website without downtime.
At this moment 400 members and counting
