Introducing The Roblox Learn Experience

Hey Creators!

The Roblox Docs Team is hyped to announce the launch of a new hub world: The Roblox Learn Experience!

Interactable Roblox Documentation

Roblox Documentation has a lot more resources than just APIs, and the Roblox Learn Experience is here to give a glimpse into what that entails.

Like other hubs on Roblox, The Roblox Learn Experience is filled with portals that lead to playable versions of a sample project file that’s connected to one of our docs: be they written docs on the Doc Site, or video docs on the YouTube channel. Inside each of the portals is an in-experience, readable, and scrollable tutorial that teaches you how to make the virtual world around you.

It’s never been a better time to start bringing your vision to life on Roblox, but learning the skills necessary to make that happen can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’re here to help! In the Roblox Learn Experience we hope you do three things:

Get free items!

A few months ago we gave away a free UGC item in connection with our Roblox Learn Youtube channel by gifting it to everyone who commented on the DevForum announcement. But what about everyone who can’t comment on DevForum? To make sure that everyone who wants it can get it, now that we have our own experience, all our item giveaways will take place there. To kick it off, we’re giving an item away for free right now.

Collect ducks!

Scattered throughout the hub and in all the teleport locations are a bunch of little ducks we’ve hidden for you to find and collect. When we were designing this we wanted you to be able to do more than just read, so we made a little scavenger hunt for you to do with your friends! Speaking of things to do:

Challenge yourself!

Because we couldn’t help ourselves, there’s also, of course, an obby (maybe even multiple). But we don’t just mean challenge yourself on the non-trivially-actually-kinda-hard-some-team-members-told-us-to-make-it-easier obby, we mean challenge yourself on the wait-this-is-actually-kinda-long-and-actually-kinda-complicated docs, too!

In the world of edutainment we live in it can be easy to forget that making cool things is hard and takes time. If you can white knuckle it to beat a challenge in a video game, you can definitely dig deep to learn complicated topics! Our primary goal in making this hub is to inspire you to roll up your sleeves and take real steps towards bringing your vision to life on Roblox, knowing that you have the Roblox Docs Team to help support you on your way.

What’s Next

Speaking of helping, we also just released two new video series that coincide with this launch! You can think of them sort of like devlogs. One shows the journey and teaches how we made the free item giveaway, the flower crown, and the other shows the methods and teaches how we made the Learn Experience itself!

You can check out those two series on their own DevForum post, and check out the Learn Experience for yourself here! Keep your eyes peeled for updates — we’re always working on new ways and resources to help power your imagination.

This is interesting… but does this only show examples? will there be things such as Luau sandboxes for users to experiment? Lessons maybe?

No private servers too, and a large server size. Server size needs to be like 6.

I mean, this is somewhat a developer hangout so the server size is warranted I guess?

The collisions are still annoying and I should be able to hide other players, especially for the obby.

im guessing this isnt intentional

Me after passing past literally every single annoying rotating blue part (it teleported me back to the last checkpoint for no reason):

My favorite part about this experience is that all the moving parts are on the server and there’s a portal called “Optimization”. The loading time is also great. It only took 30 seconds before I was able to press the next button on the UI

This game is probably being played just for the items but Roblox’s got to do something to attract players so they did this. Overall, I think the game looks fabulous and gives a live example for almost every mainstream documentation. :sunglasses:
