Since I’m currently making a public transport simulator, I’m asking this question my self a long time: Would it be a good idea to implement an AI traffic system to it?

It would be cool and I don’t see any reason why it would be a bad idea. I think the reason that most games avoid traffic is that any kind of AI, especially something like traffic, is a pain to code, because you have to account for any situation the player puts it in. And adding traffic to your game doesn’t have a huge payoff since most people don’t care if there isn’t traffic.
Though bad traffic would be well worse than no traffic.
