Is an 11 Page Tutorial too Long?

I want to reduce that “Big wall of text” scare factor that plagues so many games, and I wonder if I am overshooting with eleven pages for the tutorial. I’d appreciate if you took around three minutes to browse the tutorial of my game. Thank you in advance.

Sorry, haven’t read it, but when you say 11 pages do you mean 11 small GUIs, or hundreds and hundreds of words?

Keep it as short as possible. Try to use point form as much as possible.

Would it be possible to make ‘hint’ blocks in situations, kind of like Mario games or similar where when you get to a place where you need a tutorial you have a choice to read it or not.

try having images with a bit of text below:

[imagine an image here showing a mechanic]

text about mechanic, controls on how it works

I just saw the tutorial, eleven pages may scare some players, but it wasn’t boring, altough, at the end (at least me), I got confused, a lot of pages can make memorizing everything difficult, try to keep everything as simple as possible, or how the other guy said, you can use “hint” blocks that explain what that thing does instead of a big long tutorial for everything, in my game I used a Gui with and index, so if anyone gets lost or doesn’t know what something does, they can see the tutorial, my tutorial place its rather a physical point connected to a Gui rather than just a pop-up, but you need to find whats suits your game more. (The tutorial for my game its 8 pages longer than yours, and I have almost no knowledge about game design, remember that this its just my opinion and my experience with your game, also it looks really good, keep it up!)

I read it, it’s not too long, it’s balanced. Each page have a bunch of words, so it’s not that big of a deal.

The thing you should do is disable the background music while the player’s reading the tutorial. It was distracting.
