Is Dismemberment Allowed?

Hello, all.

I’m currently planning and working on a turn-based combat game (think: Fear & Hunger’s combat system). The main premise is that characters (R6 blocky avatars and stylized monsters) attack each other’s individual body parts (head, torso, arms, legs, etc.), which causes the dismemberment of those body parts. There will be little to no gore, and any depictions of blood are unrealistic (blood being a color other than red).

There are other games on the platform that also have a dismemberment system. However, as this is the main mechanic of the combat system, it’s difficult to compromise on any changes that aren’t purely visual. So, I’d like feedback.

I’ve gone through Roblox’s guidelines and the developer forums to read the posts of others with similar issues, but it’s unclear exactly what I can do and portray in my game in this context. As such, I’ve come out of my research with conflicting answers. Would my combat system cause any difficulty with moderation?

Thank you.

I mean, if there are blood engines, that have crazy gore, then I think its fine.

Though I would thoroughly read anything about gore and blood on Roblox and get opinions of different developers and make sure its up to regulation.

Should be mostly fine imo.

recently a lot of gore games are being banned, including ones that have very minor gore and they’ve had to be 17+. So I would be careful right now and add a toggle for it. Although if there is no gore and just dismemberant you might be fine.

When you refer to a toggle, do you mean a toggle to remove visuals for blood/gore? I plan to enable this toggle by default, so I avoid any issues with moderation.

What do you think?

I’d say a toggle for blood and so with the toggle off dismemberment would just be like how resetting a character is.
