I am working on my game but I am worried about the tutorial. For me it’s fine but I would like another view on it. Also if you could do a summary of what you understood it would be appreciated thank you in advance.
It looks alright. I would say “good enough” depends on your target audience.
For an older audience, I think it should be sufficient, however, I personally hate fully text based tutorials. You do have some visuals to aid the textual explanations, but it would just elevate the experience so much more if you just had an interactive tutorial. I have quit games so many times because their tutorials were 5 pages long and I skip over it and end up confused and lost.
For a younger audience however, this is simply not going to cut it. First, a surprising amount of the younger generation have poor literacy skills and those that do have decent abilities hate reading mundane, textbook type text (with a few exceptions).
So yes, it’s good enough. The fact that you have a tutorial that will teach you if you actually read it is sufficient, however you could potentially be losing some players due to the lack of interactiveness and heavy reliance on reading.
From what I understood, the game is an exploration type of game with 2 paths: the mountains or the sea. Once you choose one, you cannot choose the other. Within each path, there are multiple levels with varying difficulties. You must discover each level for it to appear in the server. Each path also has some secret levels, which are hard to find. Along your journey, there are 2 Npcs: The Entity, who is basically just a monster, and Humanoids, who are essentially just your average Npcs, although sometimes, they can be hostile.
Thanks a lot for your feedback! Also my game is not looking for a younger audience due to some things I will implement. And what you summarized is correct! Have a nice day!
