Is It Alright To Add An Additional Chat Filter?

Hello. I have recently developed a set of modifications to the default Roblox chat scripts, that fix certain grammatical mistakes, such as punctuation and capitalization. This is done on each client, after it has received a filtered message from the Roblox server (I did not touch the server scripts).

Is this allowed? The processing is done after Roblox does its normal filtering, so it should be safe, but I just want to be sure that I don’t get in trouble for adding an additional chat filter.

(The filter I added doesn’t change the structure of a sentence; The only thing it would do is change a sentence like “hi i am bob” to “Hi I am Bob.” or “whats this game” to “What’s this game?”)

That sounds like a really unique system. Although, I cannot provide any insight to whether this specific thing is allowed. I do know that Soro’s uses a chat filter to lower capital letters. For example, if a user sends “HELLO EVERYONE” the filter would correct it to “hello everyone.” I don’t believe there is anything against what you are recommending, however. Hope this little bit of information helps. If not, apologies.

there’s nothing wrong with adding an additional chat filter for moderation or even for grammar, there’s no reason for it to be banned

As long as you do not remove the original filter, you are totally fine. All of your examples look totally fine. If you were to change their text you would need to filter the filtered text, but you’re totally safe from what you have described.
