Is it okay to publish to the toolbox objects that use textures that other people have published to the toolbox?

Sorry for my poor English.

I’m making an object using the Parts block.
Blocks apply textures that are published in toolbox made by others.
I would like to publish this object to the toolbox.
So here’s the question. Is it okay to publish to the toolbox objects that use textures that other people have published to the toolbox?
Or if I want to publish it in the toolbox, should I prepare the texture myself?

It’s best not to use other people’s textures in your own work.

If you are planning to sell these, then use your own textures.

If you’re uploading them for your own use, go ahead–it doesn’t matter.

If you are planning to let others use them, I’d recommend to use your own texture, but it should be fine if you use someone elses’

I think you can if you give them credit, and also what @incognitobot_rblx said

Trust me, I have seen many copies and no one ever really gives credit :sob: Honestly, as long as you don’t sell it, it should be fine to use other people’s textures. Besides, there are free textures out there you could use

Yes, it’s sad, people often don’t give credit, and yeah, if they are free to use (which normally in any well made products should be in the description) then you’re totally fine

There are free texture websites out there. You could also make your own–it honestly isn’t really that hard. To be honest, you could just put together some pixels and make your textures pixel-themed :joy:

Yes that’s true, I really like the pixel theme

A trick to making pixel textures would be to do some scribbling in a certain color (or multiple similar colors for gradients/etc) and then applying a Mosaic filter or Pixelation filter :joy: Ta-da! You have a beautiful texture now!

Yes, but they can also be as good as textures that are 1064x1064 if you think of it

Pixel textures can have infinite quality :sunglasses:

I will publish it for free on toolbox, so it seems that there is no problem, is it correct?

I understand that giving credit is fine, but what do I need to do to give credit?

Yeah it wouldn’t really matter that much

in the description just put the username of whoever made it or where you got the textures from.

Ex: Texture made by username123
