Is it possible to axis lock a part?

basically what I mean is there a way to lock a part position on a certain axis to a fixed position so it still can move freely on the other axes I believe there is a way but I am too dense to figure it out so can some of y’all enlighten me, please

Trying to lock on X axis

So im trying to lock the character on the x-axis by using this code RunService.Heartbeat:Connect(function() if userInputService:IsKeyDown(Enum.KeyCode.D) then character.Humanoid:MoveTo(character.UpperTorso.Position + Vector3.new(1, 0, 0)) end end) but it does this when rotating him. https://gyazo.com/03bb104cdeac3abdbc0e750ca5e26769 Anything will help as i keep trying things but it just doesn’t seem to work!
