Is Next-gen explorer now forced on everyone?

For as long as possible, I had that feature toggled off. And now it turned on and I can’t toggle it off. Is it forced now? =(

Next Gen Explorer now available for everyone!

Already did before making this post. Nothing is said about beta being moved into release stage.

Probably best to ask the OP in that post since they’d know more than the rest of us.

Sorry, Just saw that post is locked…

Yes, it’s fully rolled out now.
I guess I’ll rewrite explorer now, like I did with terrain editor…

If anyone has an older Roblox Studio build, they can get the old explorer back I presume. It’s just an integrated plugin into Studio. Just gotta remove the new explorer, and import the old one. It will be hard but it is somewhere as an rbxm.

Yes its forced, sadly. I prefer the old explorer since I’m used to it being simple rather than it being modern looking.

Yeah it just feels off. I don’t know why but it feels like it’s more blurry. I’m not sure.

I prefered old explorer for being compact and having bright selection. Also it had good shift selection of EVERYTHING inbetween, and not only parent instances.

Its most definitely not. It was made in C++, so you would reeeaaally have to dig around in the .exe to find it

Are you sure lol? Did some digging around and I already found it. This is probably it. It’s built in.

I think we just need an old version of studio before this update without the new explorer, find that explorer built in plugin .rbxm, and then we replace it with this rbxm plugin explorer in the same folder on the new explorer.

EDIT: Your best bet might be version 669. You can download older versions here: https://rdd.latte.to/. Just put in the version hash: version-6b3313c2b086401c

Going to be honest here, as an avid developer I liked keep my instudio render fps 40 or above, but ever since this update has came out my current fps has been capped at 20

Before this update came out, I tried the beta for Next Gen Explorer, but the moment I applied it my instudio render fps was capped out at 20, and when I switched back to the old explorer this issue resolved itself

Due to this one single issue alone is why I never kept the beta of the new UI enabled, but now that its forced upon me, I am not very happy what so ever

The new explorer has some performance issues too, because i used to have 40 fps capped, now I’m down to 12 fps after this update

I figured it out. Go to this link to get the Roblox Studio before this update. rdd
Now just go into that version folder, BuiltInStandalonePlugins, Optimized_Embedded_Signature, and then look for ExplorerPlugin.rbxm. Copy that file, place it into %localappdata%/Roblox/Versions/version-6b3313c2b086401c/BuiltInStandalonePlugins/Optimized_Embedded_Signature. (the version- text might not be the same in the next update, so be aware of that) Then replace the file. Restart studio.

EDIT: This doesn’t work sadly.

UPDATE (patched)

Now this one’s a little more crazy. It involves you forcing the old explorer to show up again via the Roblox Studio Internal builds so it doesn’t use the non plugin explorer version. You can patch Studio to become internal here (make sure studio is closed): GitHub - 7ap/internal-studio-patcher: 🩹 Patches Roblox Studio to grant internal permission.

If you see Roblox Internal it’s good to go. Next go to FILE at the top left, Advanced, and Open Flag Editor. Search for “NewExplorer” and set it to false. EDIT: Also set “KillOldExplorer3” to false. EDIT 2: You also have to set “LuaExplorerPackages” to false as well, otherwise some things might not work as expected when applying properties. Thanks @Renanivx for finding this. Apply and restart studio. It should show the old explorer now as long as the internal feature is enabled. If it doesn’t you can disable internal until someone else finds a better solution. Just warning you that bugs can occur because this is unstable.

None of this works anymore due to a recent removal of the flags reverting this update back.

Got a issue with this, when running it errors out with a error of quote on quote, Could not find the address to patch

Try running as an admin. It doesn’t know where studio is, maybe it doesn’t have any permission. I did have this issue once and I presume reinstalling Studio fixed it.
