Is roblox terrain performance heavy?

Is the inbuilt roblox terrain system like in jailbreak performance heavy? I wanna use it in my game at a large scale, but I’m not sure if it would be to performance heavy.

Terrain is more performance intensive than just using parts. However, it is heavily optimized and can outperform parts in terms of how much detail there is. What you should do is test a rough concept of the terrain you want at the scale you want and compare it to using parts with something like the Roblox microprofiler.
