I’m experiencing multiple bugs in Roblox Studio that appear to be related to the new Solid Modeling Revamp beta feature. These issues impact essential building tools and editing functionality and happen inconsistently but frequently:
- Paste does not work (Ctrl + V)
After copying an object using Ctrl + C, attempting to paste it with Ctrl + V does nothing — the object doesn’t appear, and there’s no error message or feedback.
- Delete key doesn’t respond
Pressing Delete or Backspace on a selected object often has no effect. The button disables both for the BACKSPACE key and in the right mouse click menu.
- Negate/Union (solid modeling) buttons disabled
Sometimes when I negate a part and try to union it with another, the operation doesn’t work the buttons are greyed out and unclickable.
- Buttons re-enable temporarily
If I click on a different part, the solid modeling buttons (e.g., Union, Separate) briefly become enabled again and may work for a few seconds but then they disable again after a short time. During this disabled state, I’m unable to:
-
Perform any solid modeling actions
-
Delete parts
-
Paste anything
This behavior is very disruptive and makes Studio hard to use effectively.
Reproduction Steps
While the issue is inconsistent, this is the general workflow that exposes it:
Open any place (even an empty baseplate).
Insert multiple parts.
Try to negate and union parts → buttons often disabled.
Attempt to delete selected part with Delete/Backspace → nothing happens.
Copy and paste part with Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V → paste fails.
Select a different part → buttons may briefly enable.
After a few seconds, buttons become disabled again and features stop working.
A simple .rbxl file isn’t needed — this happens even in new, empty places.
System Information
-
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X (8 cores, 16 threads)
-
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060
-
OS: Windows 11
Expected behavior
With the Solid Modeling Revamp enabled, I expect Roblox Studio to retain the full functionality of:
-
Solid modeling tools (Negate, Union, Separate, Intersect)
-
Core editing shortcuts (Delete, Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V)
EDIT:
THE ISSUE STILL PERSISTS EVEN IF THE BETA FEATURE IS DISABLED.
