Issues with Terrain Scripting

You can write your topic however you want, but you need to answer these questions:

  1. What do you want to achieve? I want to get the script working and understand how to script terrain
  2. What is the issue? It’s my first time using terrain in a script and it is not working
  3. What solutions have you tried so far? Did you look for solutions on the Developer Hub?
    I tried Multiple times to debug this script and the script is still not working
local Terrain = game.Workspace.Terrain

if Terrain:GetMaterialColor(Enum.Material.Mud()) then
	print("The material is mud")
end

It’s my first time ever scripting terrain and i have no idea why this script is not printing out to the output does anyone know why this is happening thanks for your help.

It’s because Enum.Material.Mud is not a function so you shouldn’t be saying

Enum.Material.Mud() --This will error

You should just be doing

Enum.Material.Mud

This should work

local Terrain = game.Workspace.Terrain

if Terrain:GetMaterialColor(Enum.Material.Mud) then
	print("The material is mud")
end
