Keeps cancelling my Sub-Genre when the appropriate one is chosen.

I’m reaching out regarding my game titled “Become A Spy Obby”. It is a classic obby experience in the traditional obstacle course style. However, each time I set the game’s genre to “Classic Obby,” I receive an email the following day stating that the wrong subgenre has been selected. As a result, the genre is reset automatically. I believe the current genre choice accurately reflects the gameplay, and I would appreciate clarification on the proper subgenre for this type of obby to avoid repeated resets.

Expected behavior

“Classic Obby” is the most accurate representation of the gameplay, and I’m concerned that this ongoing issue may be affecting the visibility and performance of the game. An incorrect genre could result in the game being recommended to the wrong audience, impacting discoverability and user engagement. Additionally, it may lead to inaccurate analytic comparisons that affect how the game is evaluated internally. I would appreciate it if this issue could be reviewed and resolved, or if I could be advised on the most appropriate subgenre to avoid further disruptions.

Thanks for reporting @WoIfGamingYT.

Today, the “Classic Obby” category typically applies to obbies with the style of floating obstacle courses and more “general” platforms.

Your experience looks more complex so it is currently categorized in the “Other” subcategory, similar to other complex experiences like Barry’s Prison Run. However, we do hear your feedback about the genre definitions and have forwarded it to the appropriate team.

Lastly I wanted to mention that benchmarks are not used in the Home Recommendations algorithm. They are only there for your personal visualization of how other experiences your users might be playing are performing.
