When I launch from the APP, (ie: opening roblox player first then launching a game), there are random lagspikes that drop more than 30+ frames. The reason I noticed this is because the website forced me to start launching from the app (it doesnt work from the website for me anymore).
This has never happened to me and has never been a problem for me in any game when launching from the website.
Edit:
My friend has also been experiencing this problem, and only uses the APP, so maybe theres something wrong there.
I use Windows 11 and have an AMD GPU, however my friend uses an NVIDIA GPU, and still has the same problem. Not sure whats the difference between launching from the APP and from the WEBSITE but the APP definitely is causing some lag spikes for some reason.
Sent a private message with the micro profiler dumps.
I opened micro profiler and used detailed mode, where it clearly shows the lag spikes. This happens in other games as-well, and my friend has confirmed that they have stopped experiencing the lag-spikes once they started using the website to launch games.
Here is footage from when I launch the same game from the app, and from the website. (I used youtube to upload, since the roblox upload feature was not working).
@cepimuz we will investigate soon, given this thread has not been looked at in a while we would like to know if the issue is still reproducible/relevant by you?
Yes, it is still reproducible, and the main reason me and a lot of my friends do not launch / use the Roblox app at all, and still use the website as the main way to join games. I just tried it out on a plain base plate game and had the same issues in the app. Launching from the website is still perfectly fine.
