Light beam in a square shape?

You can write your topic however you want, but you need to answer these questions:

  1. What do you want to achieve?
I want to make a light beam effect, like when light shines through a window and looks visible, but in a square shape.
  2. What is the issue?
Using beams always results in odd clipping and it still all coming from one point.
  3. What solutions have you tried so far?
I tried putting beams on all 4 sides to make it look like it has more volume, but that looked awful. I tried messing with particles and didn’t get far either.

something like this?

Did you use surface lights?

Not for this one but I can change it to one. The problem is that either way I’m not sure how to make the effect coming out of the light source.
This is the kind of thing I’m trying to replicate, just with a square source instead of a single small point.

Heya @KarmaStar173! I will see if I can help you with this when I get home :")

Currently stuck in slow traffic </3

Alright @KarmaStar173 I think I came up with a solution for you :")

You said you wanted light to come from the corners, and the best way I was able to achieve that was by using Beams :"D

Let me know if this would work for you and I will send over the file :sparkles:

That works wonderfully. I tried that before, but forgot the texture I used was made for single point (a cone going inwards). Using a full box gradient fixed the issue.

^^

Glad I could help! Take care peeps!
