Lighting going through walls

I have these two adjacent rooms, one is supposed to be dimly lit with red lights, the other a clean sterile white. However the pointlights are bleeding through, completely ruining the atmosphere on both.

I have tried switching to future, and had some limited success by also switching the red lights to surface and spotlights, but for the white room it is lit up by one point light in the centre, to give an even lighting. I tried to replace this and replicate with the other types of light but I can’t seem to be able to - and keep it evenly lit.

If anyone knows how to stop the light bleeding through, or knows how to replicate this without point lights please help

Maybe you have Shadows on Point light set to false

Try ensuring that the wall edges intersect one another.

Like so:

goes through regardless, 0 change (studio is on max graphics)

Ironically, turning shadows on actually stops the light bleeding through, however it also ruins the lighting from my pointlight, I think what im going to do is have it toggle on as you leave the room, and while in the room have shadows off for the good lighting

If you don’t use shadows, light will go through walls no matter what

Add really thick walls around the rooms, usually that’s enough to stop the lighting from bleeding through the edges

Unfortunately they backed onto each other, and this was not an option :pensive:

I have switched to future and shadows to combat this, but now the room has a very different feel to it

Then activate the lights when you’re in each room like you said
