Hey, so I’m currently making a game that will use a rolling system to get these aliens, the main issues I face doing this is the lighting and particles. Firstly, I want to have these glowing particles which are already designed appear instantly with my model. Secondly, I want the model that these particles are attached to, to always be lit up.
Now the main problem I am facing here is when I first clone my model with the particles then parent it I am tweening it’s size (not 100% this contributes to the issue) and then when the model is fully visible theres a slight delay before the particles appear. The other main issue is the lighting, I have a sun in my game and anytime I tilt my camera down the model goes dark
About the particles, if you’re spawning them in and then going through all of them and emitting immediately after spawn, it wouldn’t work. Instead, you should use task.wait(0.05) or task.delay to have a very small delay before you start emitting them. If it’s already enabled before you cloned it, just to make sure, I’d suggest waiting a bit and then enabling all of them after spawning. (like this)
task.delay(0.05, function()
for i, v in pairs(clonedModel:GetDescendants()) do
if v:IsA("ParticleEmitter") then
v.Enabled = true
end
end
end
About the lighting, maybe set all the parts in the model so that they dont cast shadow (by disabling the CastShadow property)
If you don’t like how it looks without shadows, add a PointLight thats parented to an attachment inside the model, and position the Attachment at the center of the model. Then, adjust its Brightness and Range, and it should look good.
For the particles I believed I found the issue as the particles are set to have a rate naturally and to emit automatically, but this obviously has a delay, so there really isn’t a good work around for this and instead I’m gonna choose to ignore it.
As for the shadow issue both of your solutions work exactly how I wanted it to look like, which I have to say thank you so much!
