LimitedU UGC Trading & Turning Offsales Limited

Disclaimer: This post was not made with the intention of “hurting” the trading community. If anything, I believe this would create a sub-community of the trading community

I believe that It’s been quite a long time since UGC Limiteds released, and there’s been tons of good updates over the years, such as Restocking & Free UGCs.

Since I’ve seen this discussion being brought up recently, I decided to make a request post with features I think would be good for such a feature.

I have 2 features requested in here which would improve the “Limited” status for UGC items.

  1. UGC Trading
  2. Turning already published (onsale or off sale) UGCs into Limited items

UGC Trading

UGC trading, would be really awesome, if executed properly. I think one of the best ways to do this is 1st of all, separating UGC Trading from the classic Roblox Trading.
Q: why would you do this?
A: To prevent people from sending fake trades for expensive Roblox Items.

I also believe, the UGC Creators should be able to enable/disable trading similar to reselling. This would allow creators to have more control over their UGC. The creators should also be allowed to choose whose items you can trade with. Yes, that’s correct! Trading by creators.
Example:
@idelww published an item “A”. This item “A” can only be traded with other items made by @idelww OR creators chosen by them.
Suggestion 1: Allow items to only be traded between whitelisted users by the creator
Suggestion 2: Allow items to only be traded by the creator & their owned groups
Suggestion 3: Allow the creators to whitelist about 10 groups & users (20 total) in their “creator” page. Their items can only be traded with those if both parties have it set

Oftenly, Roblox brought up that “creators don’t profit off the trades”. I think, similary to how “premium payouts” used to exist, creators should receive % off trades that happen per month. This would not be a % of the trade’s value, but a calculated % of the average trading value. I know there might be issues and there will be few exploits born from this, but I believe the Roblox Corp. is competent enough to explore and find a way to make this work.

Deleted items: I think for an item to become tradeable, it should exist for atleast 6 months on the catalog. If the item has not been deleted in those 6 months, I assume Roblox allows the item and it should become tradeable.

Published items to Limited

I think creators should be able to turn on-sale/off-sale items with unlimited quantity into limited items. This would cost them a few Robux to publish as a limited but it would be nice. I believe the Price/Fees should be the same as current limited fees minus the publishing fee they paid. Eg: Paid 1,500 Robux to publish a HatAccessory. To make this item limited, the creator has to pay 11,500 Robux (13,000R$-1,500R$)

This would allow creators to turn some of their rare off-sale UGCs into Limited items which can be used for the above-mentioned trading. Or just letting people Re-sell items they no longer want to have.

I would like to hear more ideas and constructive feedback into the replies, and as always please keep everything civilized!

Bump!

If I worked @ ROBLOX I would add an extra feature that would let select UGC limiteds be tradeable for ROBLOX limiteds.
A UGC limited would just need to be high demand for at least few months.

Another thing I would change is the limited fee. Not affordable for small UGC creators

if ugc limited trading becomes a thing it should stay away from regular limiteds so it can have its own economy

I think that the trading is a pretty OK idea. I could see a lot of people trading their wares. I am not a fan of the ability to turn unlimited items into limited, though. The whole point of a limited UGC is that it is … well … limited. And once it is out there and bought in an unlimited fashion, it is no longer of the same value as an unlimited.
