Looking for feedback for my raccoon game

ive been working on a new physics-based ragdoll game inspired by Trash Day i loved the chaotic theme of the original and wanted to bring a similar experience to roblox
im not a fan of direct clones so ive built this with different mechanics and gameloop

i first created this simply because its a funny concept something highly interactive to mess around in with friends, however im curious to see if it has potential

the game is currently in beta so the map is very small and you will likely encounter some bugs

(the videos do not have audio sorry about that, however everything has sound ingame, my video recorder is broken)

id love to hear your honest opinions

do you think there is an active player base for this style of casual physics-driven game on the platform?
based on the current gameplay loop is this a project worth putting an advertising budget behind or should i keep it as a smaller passion project?

Here is the link to try out: Rakoon | Play on Roblox

thanks for the feedback!

this?

So you know how you have those bubbles that do it’s specific purpose next to the chat bubbles, I just want to see how you did that.

I like this concept, also playing with the physics is really entertaining!

Here is my feedback. There is two important things to deal with:

  1. The terrain needs to be fixed so the wagon can be carried easily
  2. Traffic frecuency needs to reduce, theres a lot of cars passing

A thing i saw really cool was the map and the models

I really think theres active players looking for this kind of games fr just for laughs and for having a funny time

Honestly, at the current gameplay loop i would not recommend to advertise it yet

Oh wait, the GUI? The topbar!

Check this devforum post about the topbar:

we are currently working on this, thanks for letting me know!

  1. Traffic frecuency needs to reduce, theres a lot of cars passing

well right now since the map is small, if the traffic frequency is not a lot then it would be very easy to get money, in the upcoming update the journey path would be way longer and there would be more roads, and overall all the roads would have less frequency

Thanks a lot for your feedback!, this is just the beta version to see if this idea is actually fun and if we should go ahead with making the map way bigger, and to also unlock “for everyone” for the game so that its not just 16+, then after that we will do a huge update to the map

Oh dude this could be potentially something amazing!

I’d recommend taking inspiration from games like Goat Simulator and Untitled Goose Game, something like those online would be a blast

I’m also always gonna appreciate a game that uses TopBarPlus, it’s so much sleeker and less intrusive : )

thanks for your feedback! and thanks for the recommendation! Goat Simulator is my childhood! i will def try to take inspiration from those games, the topbarplus really helps clear up UI Buttons on screen, its always cleaner for screenshots and recording videos

Looks cool, but it has issues.

If you are not an experienced game designer, be careful with that.

I think it could even work if someone copied it exactly :sob:

As it’s an upcoming game, there may be quite some competition for who will do it right on Roblox.

I played it. I wouldn’t recommend advertising it in its current state.

Current state's evaluation

  • According to my stricter standards
  • Just guessing, I may be wrong

I compared it to the original, yours is like a demo/mvp version (vertical slice), but I think it still needs to check all the boxes. If you could somehow do it like in the trailer…

Do you plan to change the thumbnail later on? I think the game is really great, but the current thumbnail might not be very appealing

Hmmmm in that case, it would be like those matchmaking games, where 4 players go into a zone then they are teleported into the main game where they collect together, what do you think of that?

yea you are right, now that i think about it first of all the map needs to be bigger, then the matchmaking that i talked about earlier

It’s an adaptation, I can’t tell exactly if it can be 1:1, but I am pretty sure it can be very similar, almost exact?

Would it be too complex for kids on Roblox? On the other hand, I think it would be easier to fulfill that 16+ highly engaged players requirement.

Not necessarily 4. At first, I think it can be hard to get players to stay together and cooperate when you advertise your game. I think at least 2? Or even solo? Not sure about solo.

Other than that, I can explain a bit the evaluation I did and what I found out:

Raccoons+Cart/Wagon➡️Challenges➡️Goal

The main fun is in the process, or the challenges you face along the way, not just collecting. The challenges you already know about from the original.

Another issue is will the players that come from advertising understand your game instantly or intuitively? As the audience of the original is educated about the game long before its release, so it would be easier to jump right into it.

Is a short, visual tutorial in your game needed? Or will it be understood intuitively? Not sure.
