Looking for feedback on my horror game

Data Corruption

Hi, for the past 3 days (as of when I’m posting this), I’ve been working on this new and stylized indie-horror game that I plan to make into a fully fledged game with a story and interesting gameplay (mostly likely story driven). Currently, I have quite a few things that I’d wish to get feedback on…

  • First: The monster I’ve made and it’s current animations. Now I’ve never actually made an actual monster like creation before, so for my first attempt, I’d say it turned out really well. Though I think it could do with some more detail, the games style of the two-tone of red and black makes it a little irrelevant to add too much detail.

  • Second: I’d like to know what you guys would want to see in a story driven horror game in this style. Like would you guys want to see more puzzle like gameplay with depth or just the average, “walk here and do this and then walk back and do this” sort of quest style gameplay?

  • Finally: What do you guys think of the progress so far, any advice you’d give to improve what is made or could be made? Would you actually be intrigued and interested in a game like this? I’m very interested in what you guys will think.

All in all, if you guys would want to see content related to this project (videos, etc.), please let me know. I would be also more than willing to share with anyone how I make any and all of my projects.

Cheers, tuffset.

Looks a lil goofy but I haven’t been absorbed into the atmosphere of the game yet. If dracula and the statue of liberty had a baby.

compliment freshness with freshness

good progress, no improvements I’ve thought of. It does look very intriguing, I haven’t seen anything like it on roblox at least.

for sure, you should make a dev log or something if you have the time and your willing to invest into it. Could draw in potential players too.

This game looks really cool! I really like how you’ve made the duotone between red and black. How was this acheived? Was it shaders or just that every texture is red and black? I do want to say that I think the monster should have a few more teeth, as just three can look slightly silly. Finally, a lot of fear in successful horror games comes from not knowing what’s out there, or only seeing glipses of it, (or ocaisionally, the whole monster, but only for half a second). All in all, looks like a solid start! I hope the game goes far and that you continue to share your developement progress.

Thanks! The red and black effect is achieved by using a ColorCorrection that has values more than 1 or -1 (e.g 1000+ -1000) and the color tone set to a certain color. Basically breaking the roblox lighting values.
