Looking for game feedback! My first game

Hello Everyone! I’ve been at work at making new game modes for my first game Cubic Mayhem! Ive made a few gamemodes which I like, but I haven’t gotten any feedback from other people on them yet.

Id love if I could get some feedback from you guys! Theres a few main things I would like feedback on(i like all feedback though)

  • How are the shop prices? Do they feel balanced to you?
  • How do you feel about the gamemodes?
  • Are the round rewards balanced?
  • Any other comments you have!

*NOTE you can only access the gamemodes from private servers, but fear not as they are free

Your game is fun. I would absolutely play it again with more players and if it weren’t so hard.

I think 25 coin everyday is a little much as you can buy one thing everyday for just logging in.
I wasn’t aware that there were rounds, I didn’t see any type of timer.
I bought something from the shop and it took all my money but I didn’t receive a trail/particle and I couldn’t find an inventory system.

The parts you should probably focus the most on your game is

  • Difficulty-- the game is too hard and there is no checkpoints.
  • Reduce neon, it’s really hard to focus.
  • UI needs some work, personally I’d go with a cartoony or simplistic look to compliment the style of the game.
  • Thumbnail looks good but honestly not too eyecatching
  • Make collectable coins x2 because I feel as though trying to get 25+ will be a very slow process and other players will take the coins.
  • You should add an animation for the players :slight_smile:

Overall really good game, the builds are simplistic but pleasing. Music is good… it’s a fun game. Keep working on this and it’ll most definitely become very popular

Many of the features @Luxorz said I didn’t notice. I would also reduce the neon on the ladders for the first levels. The levels are quite easy, in my opinion, so I don’t think there is a need to add checkpoints as of now.

i would turn off player collisions
also as far as i can tell the gamemode portals don’t do anything

I think checkpoints would be better as if you hit one kill brick you’re back to the start no matter how far you’ve gotten. This feature is in other games like tower of hell but unless you’re actively trying to make it hard or alike to tower of Hell. Also, no checkpoints will make it hard for your game to gather consistent players all the while receiving dislikes.

When I judge a game I look into all the aspects but these are the things I noticed the most and listed them so OP can optimize their game as much as possible :slight_smile:

Firstly, theres some really clever stuff going on with the private server randomization control! Great stuff! Well done! Tho i find the game kinda confusing. I got the first key opened the first door and then there was a room with green bublbing part and then i touched the wall it changed colour and then i ran out of time…??? so ye looks cool i am very confused tho…Probably need a bit more work to make it as user friendly as possible

  • I do agree some bits are kind of hard so I should change and add a few easier sections to the main list. The pro gamemode will still have harder ones.
  • I thought the green box was standard enough for the end but maybe I should explain the end more, same with how the rounds work. The timer only appears once someone finishes
  • is really love to get super flashy thumbnails but I’m no gfx artist and I have no where near enough to hire 4 thumbnails. I’ll se what I can do with them

Ive debated a bunch on checkpoints. I do want this to be challenging, yes. I feel like theres not enough on the platform, but people tend to dislike hard obbies. I think if i were ever to add checkpoints i would limit it to not pro gamemode, aswell as make it a buyable for every round. Still undecided on them though.
