Looking for Ideas and Feedback for my new game

Hi to anyone seeing this Topic!

I’m currently working on a survival fan game inspired by Plates of Fate, and I’m looking for any advice or ideas on improving my game. My game has a maximum of 10 events, and only 1 game mode.

The description of the game below already tells everything about the game:

The Game:

  • This Plates of fate fan game doesn’t have a name yet.
  • Version: 0.1 Pre-Alpha.
  • The 1 Gamemode: Normal mode. There is also a voting system ready in the game to be used for new Gamemodes.
  • The 10 Events in the game.
    *Plate-Events:
    Add Size
    Shrink Size
    Stretch Plate
    Move Position
    Move Up
    Move Down
    Meteor
    Tree
    *Player-Events:
    Personal Katana (Original Event) --Always attacks one player
    *Global/Game-Events:
    Public Katana (Original Event) --Attacks anything near it

I put (Original Event) near the events because they’re my own, their where my own ideas or ideas nobody used.

  • Extra stuff:
    Theres lava that rises while the game is playing.

Anything i have planned to add?

Just a new Game mode called “Zombie mode” wich makes the atmosphere green and dark, with new music, and new events wich wont be available in any other Gamemodes.

Ideas / Advice

I’m looking for Original Stuff, since i don’t want the game to be a copy, but Original.
Since i cant think of anything else to add, any idea/ideas you have and can or want to share, I’ll note them down for Future Updates. (e.g., events, features, gameplay mechanics) anything.
Any Advice would be also thanked for.

it has potenital so far, here’s my feedback after playing. (also before listing my advice i have to mention i quite like the katana event, its quite creative)

  1. you should probably use a danger level system (and normal, medium hard etc. maybe) since it allows for more variety in gameplat

  2. im not sure if it’s just on normal mode or because i died to quick but the event feel a bit slow, maybe try speed them up

  3. if you choose to keep the normal, medium, hard thing you should give players a consistent chance to vote for any of these things instead of leaving it to rng. when i played i could only vote normal, which kinda makes the players feel like they dont have much choice.

  4. you should make different maps/environments and music if there isnt any
    instead of just trapping players in a plain box, its more engaging thay way

  5. i know this is very early gameplay so you may not have to worry about this now but your gui needs polishing too

  6. also this is a bit random but maybe add levels, seasonal levels and unique items players can get which enhances their gameplay (tools / stat-boosting totems?? / plate customisation)

  7. you could potential add a monoplate mode where the players just play on one plate and teams

Potential events

  1. plate changes material (lava like you said, trampoline, treadmill, ice, acid)

  2. player gets a boost/tool/potion

  3. player shrinks/grows/turns into something

  4. random difficulty spikes or easing in difficulty, can be temporary

  5. plate gets forcefield/house/random boost

  6. plates disappear if theres multiple

  7. multiple/all plates/people switch places

  8. bounties

one more random thing (this may contradict some of the stuff ive listed previously, sorry im literally just typing random things out) since you’re looking for a unique gameplay mechanic, maybe players can collect recipes to each event or just the events themselves and can inject these events into the game if that makes sense. i think thats just a cool mecahnic idk. also if you choose to do this maybe you could add an ‘action order’ which ill link an example of.

Gamemodes
the idea of adding hard mode is nice, i could use this as a game mode which makes every event more dangerous by making them faster and deal more damage,
i got the idea to also make a “more-than-1 mode” game mode which combines 2 or more random game modes into one.

the 4th. about maps and stuff, i had this in mind when i got the idea of adding a Zombie mode so yes

the 6th. and 7th. i would surely do these.

The Events:
And now about the events, the random difficulty spike would work for an example: (making event faster or 2x more damage for an amount of time)

5th. About a plate getting a forcefield as an event, i like this idea.

7th. where anything switches places with another, i don’t know about this one it could bring to much chaos to the game

Gameplay mechanic
The last idea, the gameplay mechanic where players can collect recipes to each event and then be able to inject them into the game called ‘action order’, seems cool to me, i could make them instead be able to collect parts of an event (like puzzle pieces) and when they have enough then they get the entire event in their inventory and will be able to use the action order to summon the event which makes the next event the one they summoned or instead something else idk.

About RNG and Pay to Win info:
Lastly RNG stuff isn’t really my type, like when you can get stuff with chances, box / crates opening, gambling, or also pay to win i mostly hate that. I’ll never add gambling of these types or pay to win, instead i’ll make it play to win just like with the idea of collection event pieces (puzzle pieces) while playing, not something like buying these pieces or gift boxes so that you can spam everything.
Earning stuff that helps you in the game for playing the game is better than paying for it.

Thank you for these ideas, they will help a lot, without anything i would have quit, since i couldn’t think of anything, and honestly the gameplay mechanic is the best idea in my opinion.
