In recent months, chaos has swept across the realm like some terrible storm that just refuses to break. With the untamed influence of General Eclipsus reaching out all across the world, sparks of hope are few and far between. While my duties overseas have drawn me far away from the continent, we have continued to experience Eclipsus’ wrath firsthand. Cynndor has recently fallen under heavy bombardment from the General’s navies, striking with relentless firepower. With 3 major cities, a dozen minor settlements and of course Helharth Prison all residing on this island, I have had no choice but to stay and aid in repelling the naval threats. This land is my responsibility and I implore you to watch over yours before the iron fist of tyranny closes around it too tightly. We thankfully have enough resources to last for several years and although the naval bombardment has restricted trade routes, the people are more than capable of rationing as shown by certain events in the island’s past.
However, maintaining the naval blockade alongside the criminal activity that plagues Axogan, the largest of the 3 major cities, has proven difficult which is why we are reaching out in request of naval reinforcements. By the time you are receiving this letter, I will likely have ridden out atop Xeht, rallying the Dawnians on the island to rid Cynndor’s inland areas of Eclipsus’ influence. Many more soldiers under the General’s influence await his command on the warships, ready to storm up the beaches at a moment’s notice which is why naval reinforcements are highly requested. Recently it was discovered that Eclipsus seeks to breach Helharth itself and while Boomian has assured me that the prison is near impenetrable we are not willing to take risks. Not only do many of Eclipsus’ supporters lie shackled within its walls but also an assortment of classified entities that Eclipsus could very well weaponise if he were to take them under his wing. With the power levels of some of these contained entities being almost immeasurable, we must ensure that the prison does not fall.
While we request reinforcements be dispatched to the island I must implore that you stay in Eshia due to a new development that may change the tides of the struggle against Eclipsus. Recently a group of spies infiltrated the General’s navy to gain as much information as possible regarding potential weaknesses. They revealed plans for a secret ambush operation set to occur in the coming months: Operation Golden Crater. The spies told us that Eclipsus himself plans to lead a siege against Ignis Garrison, situated near the volcano of the same name. Supposedly Eclipsus has been travelling, seeing that his heralds enforce his will on the continent while voyaging across the world, claiming the Suraa of powerful beings so that he may become capable of controlling the entire volcano with his sorcery. If Eclipsus were to take control of the volcano and cause an eruption, the capital would be wiped from the map and slowly the Knights of the Sun would crumble. Furthermore, he could bend the very earth to his own will, ensuring his supremacy by causing terrible natural disasters all stemming from his control over the volcano, keeping the continent’s residents in line with the fear he wields.
William, Eclipsus must not breach the Garrison and he certainly must not gain control over the volcano. This may very well be our last chance to thwart the warmonger before it is too late and Eshia succumbs to his corruption. For now, I must remain on Cynndor to protect the island from his clutches but I implore you and your knights to prepare for what is to come.
