CHECK THIS REPLY FOR TEMP SOLUTION: (Mac) Huge CPU spikes resulting in huge stutters / 1% lows. - #9 by Diangamertv
Not too sure when this happened, but I’ve restarted my Mac and there’s been no improvement. This is potentially a macOS Beta issue, but I’ve noticed sometimes it’ll work fine sometimes it won’t.
System Info:
macOS 27 (Public Beta 4)
Apple M5 Pro
24GB RAM
This happens in most games.
I’ve checked Activity Monitor to see CPU usage, but I haven’t noticed anything abnormal.

Usually was 70-80%, now its 150-300%. This makes my FPS drop to around 20-15 and my Mac is almost impossible to use

.
I have a MacBook Air M2 16/256, macOS 26.5.
Expected behavior
Normal CPU usage <100% or near 100%.

It seems like this wont be fixed, and has been an issue for many before the beta.

For me, the CPU Utilisation doesn’t even go to that high, it just chills at 80%

This bug also seems to affect in-game menu, so I don’t think it’s something to do with the game I’m playing

Only if Roblox cared enough to do something.

A full micro profiler view of the spike would give you a bigger chance of a real investigation.
Can’t tell much from a simple lag spike as it could be pretty much anything. Also you can export a log and attach it to mod view only.

Will do, thanks alot for this!

Temporary fix: Play the game in windowed mode and make the window fill the entire desktop. This fixes it for me.

Oh this issue has been reported during the start of the macOS beta, Roblox said that this is Apple’s issue. Welp, guess we’re having it now.

They should probably implement a fix before macOS 27 gets it’s official release in 1-2 weeks
Update: This hasn’t changed in Public Beta 5 either…

Upgrading to Public Beta 5 or 6 did not affect it
