I think this issue is hardware specific, but it has been annoying me to no end.
Whenever I open Roblox Studio, I notice the main menu UI and plugin UI has a strange flickering effect whenever their window is focused.
While the video only shows the main menu, this issue happens on any docked windows (and undocked ones, if they’re focused)
This is a repost of this help thread I created a few months ago but wasn’t able to move to the bug reports category. it still is an issue.
Beta Features: (But I don’t believe they’re the cause)
Improved Find All/Replace All
Improved UIStrokes
Scripts are Non-Strict By Default
UIDragDetectors
Next Gen Studio Preview DISABLED [the bug happens on the new ribbon when its enabled if i remember correctly]
System Information:
Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H (laptop)
AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU [roblox studio uses this one!]
Display resolution is 2560x1600, the issue happens regardless of whether it’s set to 60hz or 165hz
NOTABLY the last time I tried, I did not get this issue when launching studio via Vinegar on my Linux partition. (but i haven’t set up the tools I use there, so it’s not ideal)
It still occurs on my device! I’ve sent a private message to the bug-files group with a log where i simply opened studio for a minute or so, and it passively had that flickering artifact.
Interesting- I have had this exact same issue with Studio on my laptop for over a year now. Here is a video:
Similarly to OP, this only happens when I focus the window with my mouse. I have always chalked this up to me using an older laptop vendor-specified Nvidia GeForce driver during this time (v537.28, October 2023) but even now on the latest Game Ready Driver (v591.59, December 2025) I am still seeing this issue.
System info:
Acer Predator PH16-71 laptop with Windows 11 25H2
Intel Core i9-13900HX with Intel UHD Graphics (driver v32.0.101.7082, December 2025)
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU (driver v591.59, December 2025)
Studio is running on the Nvidia GPU. My screen resolution is also 2560x1600, but my refresh rate is 240 Hz.
Hi, we’ve looked at this in the past and the issue has been tied to specific versions of the driver on (I believe) specific Nvidia chipsets. Interestingly enough it seems to be something that can subside after particular driver updates, but then it seems to have come back. (We could reproduce this in a similar fashion a few years ago I believe on a 4080, but it went away and resurfaced sometime last year). There’s not a ton we can do here other than ask you to try another driver or updated driver. But it may be that certain features being enabled or screen configurations (resolution, refresh rate) might cause this to behave differently. If you can provide any insight as to if this seems better/worse under specific conditions that would be helpful, thanks.
