Sorry, it’s a little difficult to understand what you mean.
Do you mean the visual black paths?
Do you mean the pathfinding service used for zombie movement around the gray path?
Do you mean that you want all players to see the center area more easily from each of their own areas (the view they see from each of your red arrows)?
If you want the center hexagon a little more open so the shops aren’t crowding it then just make it a little larger. You can make 3 black paths at the center, but rotate each one by 120° so they look like 6 separate paths and space the shops out more evenly among the 6 sections.
Lol in terms of making it larger I was thinking that but it would be a large pain to move everything lol.
Also I feel like having a smaller area is more efficient for players (but maybe thats just me coping). I’ll expand if it will help a ton tho I’m not sure cause i dont have crazy map experience.
Do you think the change I made helps it? I moved some stuff out of the way and had those 2 big paths trying to funnel everyone in with the props (although plots behind shop kinda left out)
Now with 4 gray sections instead of crowding the yellow shop between the green and purple ones put it in the blank gray section.
Does it make any difference to gameplay if one player’s brown plot is further from the shop? If so maybe the shop should be centered and the 3 other circles could be spaced around using 3 paths to the center instead of 4.
But like I said, you have the yellow, green and purple shops taking up one side of the hexagon and the red shop over by itself. Put the yellow shop in the open gray space instead of on the black path.
I get what you mean but the reason I did those specifical elements like this was because of how the game functions.
Bassically ur base kills zombies which gives you skulls. You sell skulls for bananas. You use bananas to purchase immedaite Turrets/Defenses (from the shop) and long-term progression items via the special shop.
The reason I want the yellow shop to be in the middle is because I want it to be highlighted as the central location.
This current layout mimics Ninja Legends, which I took insiporation from
For instance I feel like it would be visually confusing to treat extra items the same as the main shop and special shop. The goal is to get quick udnerstanding because roblox is currently benefitting easy to udnerstand games the most right now
Thanks lol its easy to compare it to those huge simulator games and buildings from blender pros.
After I made some changes talking with @Scottifly I feel like its doing better. It could still be improved but I guess I can always pay someone to redo it later right lol
My main challenge is balancing symmetry with clarity. Like in my designs I want user’s to instantly know what to do, ideally from recognizable layouts. Especially since my game is packed with a lot of features they have never experienced before.
So I’m struggling a bit whether to move the main shop over to the side, but I think that unless I can think of a different layout, I’ll stick it to the central path for the mental aid.
How about this?
The black paths you have are really wide, try making them a bit narrower.
3 black paths would fit into your hexagon styled world better.
Having the 3 main shops side by side on the one side would make them stand out.
Having the extra shop centered for now would balance out better opposite the yellow shop.
Then you’d have 2 additional spots for anything you want to add. (you could put statues or something there for now if you want)
Does black lines are even needed? Just make black central hexagon (flat one), and put shops like @Scottifly has drawn.
Simplicity is usually best choice.
Maybe a central black hexagan with paths leading out. Im still thinking paths cause i want to enforce movement space. But i think u mighr be right about simplicity
Even if you don’t want the black paths but want players to follow that format why not make the gray hexagon a set of small decorative walls with openings between them where the black paths were?
Basically take out the black lines in my drawing and make the gray walls only 1-2 studs high to separate the outer green garden from the central shop area. Even add some decorative globes at the top of each corner and at the top of each opening.
