Tons of avatar item creators are having items that don’t violate the rules be deleted due to having a black texture (specifically, items with black metalness map) being deleted
Expected behavior
I expect the moderation of a single black texture to not take collaterally down hundreds of items that also utilize black textures for the like 4th time in the last two years. I also expect these deletions to appear in the violations and appeals center, which they yet again do not
Having this too, I’ve had 16 Layered Clothing items falsely deleted for simply having a solid black metalness map within the past hour. Zero moderation messages or account warnings
Unfortunately four of my bundles have been removed due to this issue and I did not receive any indication (appeals, messages, warning, etc) that the items were moderated either.

Weird. They said that this issue was fixed in April when this glitch happened again. Hopefully they can restore anything deleted with haste.
I noticed this being a very common issue with accessories. It’s like the 4th or 5th time that I remember items using black textures being deleted.
Will there be any fix related to this issue in the future?
Could we be expecting this issue to finally be fixed one day?
Happened to my items as well, super frustrating and demotivating. This has already happened to myself and others in the past. Hope they get fixed soon!
Lots of my items have also been effected. Hope it is sorted soon before anyone who bought them misses them
I don’t do ugc but I have some friends who do and they have gotten some items deleted. Hopefully this is fixed

These issues are why I am backing away from doing UGC.
If these items are restored, would it be possible to have them automatically put back on sale? Or at least would you give us a list of what was taken down? Because we have received no notification from the system and won’t know what needs to be put back on sale.
We are aware of the issue and will be restoring the incorrectly taken down items’ moderation status and on sale status.
The root cause for the incorrect takedown is actively being investigated
my items seem to be back!! but i did have to put them back on sale 
The root cause is that a black image was removed because someone managed to get it deleted through one of hundreds of possible intermediaries. Since items that use the same image automatically get moderated as well, anything sharing that image ends up being affected. And because any item with even one missing dependency gets removed altogether, bundles/UGCs that include those images also get taken down.
Preventing this would require closing a lot of loopholes, since getting a black texture—or really any texture—removed is surprisingly easy.
I mean, it gets pretty ridiculous when these deletions manage to affect even official Roblox items. The Roblox Jersey that I reported for being deleted just a couple of hours ago was using, you guessed it, a black texture as one of the ColorMaps in Surface Appearance.
Staff should make sure that basic template textures are blacklisted from being flagged or issues like this will continue to arise.

We’ve patched the gap that caused the moderation of this black image.
We’ve also restored affected items and put any affected items that was taken off sale, back on sale.
