The Great Hall
A very merry Christmas to you all.
Although where I am right now, Christmas doesn’t start for another 6 hours, I thought I’d share a little something I’ve put together in the past two days. I’m sure we have a few Potter fans out there, so maybe you’ll be interested to see what I’ve done.
I started my holidays with a Harry Potter movie marathon. I completed the movies in three days. I’m sure nobody would disagree though, wouldn’t it be great if magic was real? (Unfortunately) magic is yet to be discovered, or it already has and we’re all muggles so we have no idea. So I decided to build my own haven for magic, the Great Hall.
On this build I wanted to make sure I got a lot of the look close, but not to abolish my own style of building. I would say I have accurately completed that task.
I used quite a lot of different meshes and created many of my own from solid modelling to pull off the very detailed areas. The hourglasses are just one example of this. They were created using solid modelling for the frame, with the design that the powder inside could be changed to reflect actual points if it was ever a feature I wanted to add to the showcase.
I had a lot of fun putting together the plinth at which Dumbledore gives his many speeches throughout the years before he jumps off the edge due to disappointment in Malfoy’s inability to kill him.
However I have to say the favorite part of building the great hall was by far the gargoyles which sit on the sides of the halls holding the hall lamps. Four totally different ones were build to reflect each house, and they’re even ordered the same way (or virtually) as in the movie. That’s something that not even all the official games had!
Overall I have to say I had a lot of fun constructing this and if you’re interested to see it for yourself then you can here; The Great Hall - Roblox
Have a very merry Christmas!
