After running a Play Solo session in Studio (Play → Stop), MeshParts in the edit-mode viewport render at a visibly low LOD (decimated / faceted geometry) and never recover. The only thing that restores full mesh detail is completely restarting Studio.
The reproduction is intermittent: some days it happens on every single Play/Stop cycle, other times it doesn’t happen at all on the same place and same machine. I have not found a variable that controls it. It significantly slows down daily work on a large production place, since Studio has to be rebooted many times per day to get a trustworthy viewport.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open a mesh-heavy place (this happens in Pet Simulator 99’s development place - thousands of MeshParts;).
- Confirm meshes render at full detail in Edit mode.
- Start a Play Solo session (F5).
- Stop the session and return to Edit mode.
- Intermittently, MeshParts across the viewport now render at low LOD (see screenshots - the eggs/props are faceted where they were full-detail before the play session). Moving the camera right up to a mesh does not restore detail. Only restarting Studio does.
Studio rendering settings (Studio Settings → Rendering):
- Editor Quality Level: Level 21 (still shows 21 after the bug occurs)
- Graphics Mode: Automatic
- Frame Rate Manager: Automatic
- Debug → Mesh Detail Level: Level 00 (no forced LOD override)
- Debug → Auto FRM Level: 21
- Cache → Mesh Cache Size: 33554432 (default)
- Enable VR Mode: enabled
Notes on what I’ve ruled out:
- Not a forced debug LOD - Mesh Detail Level is Level 00.
- Not the quality slider - Editor Quality Level still reads 21 after Stop.
- Not streaming latency - detail never returns even after idling for minutes; only a Studio restart fixes it.
- Not place-content changes - the identical place file renders full-detail again immediately after a restart with no edits in between.

Reproduction file: the issue occurs on a large production place; I have not yet reproduced it in a minimal file.
Expected behavior
After stopping a Play Solo session, the edit-mode viewport should return to the configured Editor Quality Level (21) and render all MeshParts at the same fidelity they had before the play session started, without requiring a Studio restart.
