Approximately a few days ago, a considerably known game within the obby community had been stolen by a beamer (or group of beamers), and I just want to bring some attention to this case because I’ve seen a dangerously increasing amount of similar situations recently, where they manage to transfer your game into another group and take your generating revenue. The following quoted message hasn’t been written by me, but by the owner of the community, Yellow78Dog. I’m just sharing it on his behalf.
I’m hoping this reaches someone up there on the Roblox staff and they contribute on the cause, and perhaps make this problem visible to anybody out there and make them aware that maybe if they’re not careful enough (or by inevitable cause such as data leaks), they can be next.
On Sunday, September 20, I received a Discord message from someone named Milo. They informed me that someone was attempting to sell shares of my game, The Obby Realm, through a fake account impersonating me. (The Obby Realm Link: The Obby Realm | Play on Roblox)
I asked Milo to contact the owner and request that the listing be removed. They said they would handle it, but I did not receive any further updates. I then joined the server myself and encountered what appeared to be a legitimate verification bot. In an effort to access the server and address the situation, I attempted to verify my account. The verification process failed, and I later learned that this was how my account information was compromised.
After gaining access to my account, the individuals involved targeted my Roblox group, The Top Obbies, where my game, The Obby Realm was held and owned. They withdrew the group’s Robux and transferred my game to another group called The Masked People. (The Masked People Group Link: The Masked People - Roblox) (The Top Obbies Group Link: The Top Obbies - Roblox)
The game was later sold to another person, who contacted me and offered to sell it back to me. I declined because the requested price was far too high. Since then, they have continued operating the game for their own profit.
I have contacted Roblox Support and asked others to reach out to Roblox developers on my behalf, but no action has been taken so far. While I have regained ownership of the group The Top Obbies, I still do not have my game, The Obby Realm.
Once again, ACTIONS have to be taken, we need justice for all of those stolen games out there which problem still hasn’t been remediated, no matter how big or small the games are, these beamers don’t have the right to profit off of stolen revenue.
