Murder Mystery W (MMW) is a passion project that I’m currently developing. While inspired by classics like Murder Mystery 2 and Murder Mystery X, MMW aims to deliver a fresh take on the genre—featuring an ongoing lore-driven storyline and unique gameplay mechanics that set it apart.
My Vision
I’m driven to create this game with creativity and purpose; I’m not in it for the money. My goal is for MMW to be a polished experience, complete with unique artwork, an original soundtrack and sound effects, creative maps, original weapons, and much more.
Development Status
MMW is still in its early stages of development, so there’s a long road ahead. In the meantime, I’ll be sharing weekly updates (hopefully lol) in this thread with new additions, changes, and behind-the-scenes progress. Community feedback is highly encouraged, and all forms of constructive criticism are welcome and appreciated!
First Post
The first post will be released tomorrow—stay tuned!
Will you have more roles than Innocent, Murderer, and Sheriff? I mostly play the Item Asylum murder mode now since it has Jester and different weapons.
If you want to be more unique, I don’t think Roblox has a good TTT (Trouble in Terrorist Town) game right now. In that game IIRC everyone has weapons, but there’s traitors.
I haven’t played personally but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Markiplier play before. I’m not sure if I would make it the full game but perhaps it could be a random gamemode players could choose. Good idea!
You can at least take inspiration from the mechanics of TTT, since it’s different from most other social deduction games in the sense that even the innocents have guns and can kill!
there’s this VR game called Pavlov and it has a TTT mode and it’s so funny to die then hear another ghost say something like “this is what you deserve”
I made game where there were like the classic roles of innocent and murderer but each person had a job like investigator (stand near people to reveal their roles) or streamer (get extra votes by recording cool content). However I stopped developing it because the core mechanics were a little too rushed and unpolished which made it buggy. Was still very cool and I hope your project turns out good!
mu in item asylum is literally peak but everyone hates it. Although I don’t play it anymore because I was frustrated that an emote costed 1 million when I previously had like every emote in the game and some other things.
Oh I might have to go check that out. Also the it was like the mewing emote of all things that would cost 1 million. I’ll have to check.
EDIT: @Microwave_Toothpaste you would be right it’s now 400k which is still a hefty price but now i at least own the most expensive emote in the game now.
There’s been a pretty good TTT Roblox game for over 11 years now called Traitor Town, and it’s always done fairly good. I think the niche for TTT games is filled
