More customization for mouse cursor icons

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to integrate fully custom mouse cursors seamlessly into my games. This is because, although Roblox has provided an easy way to change the icon of the cursor, this image can be overridden by multiple different things.

For example, if you have a custom cursor set, hovering over any clickable GUI objects (or ScrollingFrames) will cause the cursor icon to revert to the default click-hand:

Similarly, whenever you hover over the default Topbar/CoreGUI, the cursor will also revert to the default click-hand, once again overwriting whatever custom image the developer may have set:

What I’m requesting is that Roblox add some kind of way for developers to set what the player’s cursor icon will change to when hovering over clickable GUI objects or CoreGUI – basically a way to control more than just the normal pointer image.

If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because the overwriting/disabling of the custom image when hovering over clickable GUI buttons can defeat the entire purpose of using a custom cursor – usually because the default cursor doesn’t fit the rest of the game!

I just ran into a situation where I want to style the cursor to fit the rest of my games aesthetic. Due to the clear lack of more cursor customization though, I’m unable too.

When the Mouse Cursor is not hovering on any Active frame or UI Button, it looks how I want it too.

However, upon moving the Mouse Cursor to any Active frame or Button, it switches to the default cursor. This imposes a lack of cohesion in UI, which is one of the most important factors to a games identity.

I don’t get why Mouse.Icon even exists when it’s not respected anywhere.
