More Moderation On Exploiters

Everyday, exploiters are an issue to regular players who enjoy playing Roblox games. Yet, there appears to be very little moderation on this issue across games & handing out bans/terminations to accounts to people who are actually exploiting within said games. I’m wondering if this is going to be fixed to detect a client/injector before an exploiter can actually join a game. Something like, it detects said exploiters client/injector that’s being plugged into a Roblox game then issues a ban quickly as possible.

I know there are other ways to handle this issue, however every channel I’ve used to catch these exploiters has not worked. I’ve reported in game (during the issue), on the Roblox website (after the issue), I’ve contacted support about this issue and even recorded the issue and sent it to support. Yet, everyone I’ve reported and sent to Roblox support has not been banned/terminated to this day and still active on Roblox possibly exploiting in games.

I can personally give a list of Roblox usernames whose exploited still not banned or been moderated for said issue that still remains on the website playing games. Also, I have video proof which is more than enough to get the issue handled, but Roblox support has failed to actually work with me on these. Need be, I will be willing to post each video on the devforum to show proof.

Overall, I’d like to see more moderation on this topic to handle exploiters better and to actually take proof through Roblox support and deal with reports better. Or even make a way to stop these exploiters before they start exploiting in game by detecting their injector/client so it can be quickly handled.

Hyperion is already exactly this and is present in the client. They do not however instantly ban because that is a naive approach that makes it significantly easier for an exploit developer to produce workarounds for their detections through trial and error. They do bans in massive waves at probably random times.

How is Roblox support supposed to be able to tell the difference between developer-intended behaviour in a game and someone actually exploiting though? There are too many variables that they realistically cannot genuinely moderate general-case exploiting for.

I’d personally much rather see Roblox just pass along any exploiters reported through the report abuse menus directly to developers and moderators developers have authorised so that it is possible for our own moderation teams to deal with exploits through a stream of reports.

I mean, you tell me if I sent you a video of someone flying, going through walls and teleporting around the map on a game that’s not intended for it. Would you say, “yeah but I can’t determine if that’s allowed for that game” or “oh yeah, you’re not supposed to do that”. The issue is their “report abuse” hardly to rarely actually works on exploiters. Even when video proof in hand these same people are still active despite being reported over a year+ ago. (To make it clear, report abuse doesn’t really work on exploiters, and even Roblox Support won’t do anything to ban said exploiters who I sent video proof to them)

Basically, I made this topic so it can help increase dealing with moderation on exploiters so the regular player can actually enjoy the game that they’re playing. Now hyperion, granted yes they put that on to stop exploiters. However, there are still many workarounds to still allow players to exploit, and all I’m saying that it can be increased to help make it better and maybe to upgrade the system a little.

I agree with this entirely. I’ve reported numerous exploiters both using the Report Abuse which does nothing when you report for exploiting, and Roblox Support, which they say to report using report abuse.

I would say “I have no context of what the game this is from is about, I cannot accurately assess if these actions were the result of a developer-intended functionality or not” if I received a video with a player from some random game I didn’t know about, because it is perfectly reasonable and possible to assume that there was intentionally some sort of power in that game that enables that. And my perspective is assuming that Roblox’s support is just as outsourced to a third-world country as their moderation is, reinforcing how they don’t know even about very well-known games.

It’s why I mentioned that a feature that passes along this specific category of reports to the game’s developers and moderators would actually be a far better ask. Purely because it allows the people who actually understand their own game and playerbase to action on reports appropriately.

The unfortunate reality is that they cannot really do more than they already are. Hyperion is actively being worked on to throw exploits for a loop but the amount of money involved in exploiting means that the developers of those exploits are really fast, and efficient, at finding new workarounds and bypasses.

It’s a cat and mouse game where eventually the obvious answer should be for developers of games to introduce their own more specialised anti-cheat methods that function mostly server-side and target solving exploits specific to their game’s features instead of expecting Roblox to magically solve the problem for them even more than they already are.

This is a fair point to assume that Roblox Support doesn’t actually know much about the games on the platform, I’ve mostly caught the issue in the game “Murder Mystery 2” plenty of times where I’ve personally seen them fly, noclip through walls, teleport and even fling people out of the map. I’m also most certain you can’t do that in that game, if so I’d like to know how. I mean even Roblox Support should hopefully understand something that simple.

For this I agree, and disagree. If we pass it off to the developers to fix the issue some might know how to fix the issue and others maybe don’t know how to stop the issue. Most people I’ve caught exploiting are people who’ve spent money on Roblox, exploiting in games despite thinking there will never be a consequence for them if the issue is never stopped, (Which might be true for those who do it).

Don’t get me wrong having this worked on is a good thing, however there should be more ways to actually prove there’s exploitation going on. Report Abuse & Roblox Support are not helpful in anyway. Unless, they make a way where on the report abuse you can record like a 30 second clip of proving that they’re exploiting and put it onto the report to show proof otherwise having a game ban vs an account ban are 2 separate things.

Also to further up my point that moderation needs more action on this issue, even the guy who won the new dominus on “The Hunt: Roblox 20” is a exploiter whose even recorded himself in game and posted it to youtube, walking through walls in a game that shouldn’t be possible. Now, do you think this should be or shouldn’t be allowed to be so. If the guy is able to exploit, posted proof that he can, and that he will do you think he should be allowed to win something without knowing if he actually cheated on the event that people worked hard on?

I’ve seen people complaining about that on Twitter and nobody so far has been able to answer the only question that matters: is there evidence that he exploited in this event? Because if there isn’t, why should he be disqualified or punished because of videos he has published that were likely not gameplay that occurred during the event or in an event game?

Why are people so eager to jump onto this train of “guilty until proven innocent” when it should realistically be the opposite way around?

Regardless of the exploit, the fact is he is able to exploit easily. Now given, it’s hard to say if he was or wasn’t exploiting for that final puzzle, but whose the say he wasn’t cheating? I mean the facts & proofs are there regardless how you look at this. If he’s able to exploit in one game what’s stopping him from doing it in more games, without us knowing and we won’t know that’s the issue. For all we know, he could’ve cheated and that’s that.

I’m not entirely sure what way you’re swinging on an issue that’s common across platform that nobody likes. But, there will be opposition on this topic.

But this is a mere “what-about-ism” and not actual, solid evidence that proves guilt. Someone can be an exploiter in games where there’s nothing at stake if it seems fun or entertaining while still demonstrating actual skill and effort without exploiting in other instances. You can’t just grab cherry-picked examples of them using exploits and then use them as evidence to disqualify them unfairly from an unrelated competition.

As far as I am concerned, unless the dude actually exploited during the event and it can be proven, there’s zero reason to be mad about his victory unless you’re just salty that he had more talent than you and are searching for reasons to strip away his achievement.

Here’s a few things to note about this, the guy has exploited before. again I say regardless what the exploit is and what game, a exploit is a exploit doesn’t matter how you word it. This “achievement” you speak of, is something that’s earned through actually trying and not just simply using exploits which could possibly be the case in this instance. Also, how are you going to prove if he did it legitimately without ever seeing a recording, or anything else that can’t be provided from a Roblox game.

I think you’re misunderstanding of him being innocent or guilty doesn’t matter in a case that he’s already proved that he can do such a thing. Take into account, that he has done it and possibly did it to win a grand prize to a Roblox event. Also, I don’t care if I received the prize or not I didn’t try for the end of the event.

How are you going to prove that he did it illegitimately with something that does not hinge on videos that have no relation to his actions during the event? Stop trying to frame the scenario in a way that is far more convenient for you to misleadingly assert he actually exploited in the event. Applying your own logic, surely all of the other winners must be exploiting right? After all, almost none of them have a recording or anything proving they completed the event themselves legitimately!

Your little point about him “proving he can do such a thing” makes zero sense either, because anyone can do those same exploits, it’s as simple as downloading or buying a script injector and not some highly complicated art that requires a sophisticated degree of programming knowledge.

A history of something will stick with you even if it’s in person and or online. He’s proven that he can exploit and has exploits on his computer. Yet, Roblox could stop Feodoric 3rd place in “The Hunt: Mega Edition” and stop him from playing in the competition for a million dollars, all because they can just “detect exploits on his computer”? Why can’t we apply what they can do there to every other exploiter that easily?

Why was he disqualified for having exploits on Feodoric’s computer vs lolcat can win the dominus who also has the same exact thing on his computer?

It doesn’t matter how he played during the event, it matters what’s on his computer just like Feodoric. You can keep going back and fourth, but even this shows that Roblox can simply detect something on someone’s computer but doesn’t do that to fix the exploiting issue.
