Recently, a few friends of mine (including me) have been experiencing this odd issue where the mouse never locks into the screen, this happens in any experience and can cause a lot of issues, especially in FPS games. I usually don’t play in fullscreen as it usually drops my frames by about 20 to 30 so windowed helps a lot in my case. Although now since I play in window my mouse will constantly manage to leave the game window even though the experience has me locked in first person? This bug has been causing me to probably go insane as it’s really infuriating on how I could manage to get a kill and win but can’t since I physically can’t aim up or down.
Below is a video demonstrating all the issues I had experienced throughout this awful bug and I really hope this gets noticed and fixed soon.
At the end of the video, I tried moving my mouse to the right and slightly above but instead it moves out of the window and I accidentally close roblox. This really should be fixed by now, imagine dealing with this current situation, you’re about to complete one of the hardest things on roblox and you accidentally close roblox because it couldn’t keep your cursor locked in the window. That would just be absolutely horrible and could easily drain someone.
Expected behavior
If everything was actually working correctly then the mouse should:
Be locked in the centre of the screen
(Wasn’t demonstrated but) Shiftlock should also lock the mouse in the centre of the screen
(Wasn’t demonstrated but) Normally using right click to move the mouse should lock the mouse where the user originally intended to move the camera rather than move all of the place.
I haven’t tried it there yet but from my experience the Microsoft Store version isn’t the greatest for me. It might just be preference but I’m pretty sure this does happen in the Microsoft Store version.
Could you provide some more information regarding when the issue first started occurring, if you have any conflicting software that could be running, and/or any additional information that could be helpful for us to reproduce the problem? Thanks in advance!
This started happening about a month ago but has been happening a lot quite recently, I also experienced this last year but that was on the Microsoft Store version which, to what you have stated has already been an issue before. I don’t think I have any conflicting software as this has happened to some of my friends as well as some interesting results. For example my friend stated that their cursor would be stuck locked in the centre of their screen and having no choice to either rejoin a bunch of times to see if it automatically fixes itself or just deal with it. Oh and sorry for the late response I have been quite busy with some of my projects
No worries, thanks for the information! We’ll triage this bug internally. In the meantime, if anyone else is experiencing this issue, please feel free to let us know with associated system information / reproduction steps.
Unfortunately, our team of internal testers tried to reproduce this bug without success. We are closing this thread for now, but if anyone is still experiencing the bug, please respond with any additional details that could help our investigation and we’ll be happy to re-open to look into it further.
The new version of Roblox on Microsoft Store may also have fixed this mouse lock issue. Feel free to give it a try!
