Using AlignPosition and AlignOrientation is a perfectly valid way to make a rig follow a Player’s character. There are definitely other ways to achieve the same effect, however the “best” approach will depend on your specific use case and/or preference. Here’s a short list of alternatives:
RunService.Heartbeat and CFrame the rigs. Using this approach you will likely want to utilize TweenService’s SmoothDamp function to smoothly interpolate the rigs towards their destination.I’ll look in Character Controllers I’m using this to make a Zombie system npc. Like in Guts and Blackpowder in a way.
Ahh ok. So these rigs will be controller on the server (and need to replicate to other clients)? Yeah, sounds like ControllerManagers will be your best bet.
I tried Character Controllers it’s just how would I move the Rig?
You mean ControllerManagers, right? You can use the MovingDirection property to adjust which way the rig moves. Unlike Humanoid, ControllerManager doesn’t have methods like :MoveTo() so you would have to implement that sort of functionality from scratch.
One last question how would I make it to be able to move? I just need an example to move it?
I think I will look into this post: How to Actually Use Roblox’s Physics Character Controllers - Resources / Community Tutorials - Developer Forum | Roblox
From a glance it looks like that tutorial would answer your question about how to move a rig with ControllerManager better than I could explain in a brief post! The ControllerManager system definitely has some pitfalls and can be lacking proper documentation so reach out if you have other questions about it.
Wait, how would I move it with a script? Like a part? Because I’m going to client render animations and the rig.
I believe simple pathfinding module has something along the lines of this. I would check it out.
No like I want to move it smoothly and I think I may just use humanoids for now
