Mr. Robot's torso flipped in R6

Mr. Robot bundle’s torso in R15 has a calculator on the left and buttons on the right

But after converting the bundle to R6 they get flipped along with the text on its torso

Mr. Robot is always depicted with a calculator on the left and buttons on the right in every official Roblox media(except toys)

The bundle’s texture also, like with many other bundles, appears to be higher quality in R6 compared to R15

Expected behavior

The torso in R6 version of the bundle should be flipped to have the calculator on the left and the buttons on the right

This is crazy, I wonder how this even happened lol

This should definitely be fixed in my opinion (R15 and R6 bodies should look exactly the same so your character looks consistent between different experiences), but since the R6 version was the original appearance, I think the R15 version should be updated to match the R6 version instead of the other way around. This Snapshot of the Internet Archive from February 2013, before the existence of R15, shows that the calculator was originally on the left side of Mr. Robot’s torso.

That would work too, but in that case I think they would have to flip every word and number because they are unreadable in R6 version of the bundle

Some thoughts:

  • How it appears on R6 is definitely how it’s always been, misorientated text and all. Which either means that was confusingly what the artist originally intended, or it’s plainly just been wrong for the past ~14 years since its creation.

  • I can’t find any record of a time when the package appeared consistently between R6 and R15. Meaning it’s likely that R15 kind of just had it inverted since day one—or at least very early on.

  • The text written in marker on the R15 rig is illegibly blurry, supporting that whatever happened to create this disparity likely wasn’t the result of any well thought-out revision.

  • That modern promotional material favors the left-sided calculator placement isn’t really any surprise, given that R15 is what’s being represented in those ads. Earlier material that predates R15, such as the iconic 2011 “ROBLOX: IT’S FREE” commercial, that aired just months after the package’s creation, does instead feature the R6 variant.

I’m not sure why, but a lot of old packages have blurry textures on R15. Headless Horseman is a perfect example.

The renders and Roblox Anthem Mr. Robots are actually not R15. I’m pretty sure they use a completely new model(s)

Same bug applies with a fellow robot, Gentleman Robot. (most visible w/ the buttons)
Believe the R6 version is the intended one.

We’re looking at this right now. The flipping part is easy, but we’ve run into a rendering bug whilst at it. Will let you guys know when we update. Thanks!

Hello, I just wanted to ask if there’s any progress on fixing this, because it’s been three months since I made this bug report. Thank you.

Thanks for the reminder. There isn’t. We’re still trying to figure it out, as there doesn’t seem to be any authoring issues, so it might be a deeper rendering issue. There are actually a number of other Avatars with the same issue.

Thanks for your patience. We want this fixed as much as you do!
