Hello! I’m working on a fighting game.
I’m working on the map, and I’d like to see some feedback
It’s kinda weird to see everything in a circle and round, maybe you can try to use the block for the build. However, if this is your building style then just ignore my suggestion and keep it on.
You can make the lava in the volcano insta kill, the magma deals damage slowly to players. And the water deeper so we can doggy paddle in it!1
All I got to say
In order for me to say if your map is good or not, I need to know what your game design is like. Do you want a cartoony feel? A realistic feel? Do you want your game targeted towards 13+ players or <13 players? These things are all things I consider when judging a map.
It’s like realistic, but simple too.
and it’s probably gonna be free for all.
I have made that, but the magma is instakill, too so it’s not too easy.
Yeah, this is my style. It’s meant to look like it’s created by humans.
Like it’s a planet made by humans.
it’s not bad…
but a few suggestions i’m guessing this is supposed to be a battle royale?
you should add more height elevation most of the map is just flat and not like more volcanoes or more mountains i mean like small grass hills or sand dunes like how you have in the rocky area
also make the ground like the grass and sand not just on top of the water have it coming out of the water and maybe raised up
the map also seems kinda small and there basically nothing really in any of the areas the forest area just has a bunch of trees and that’s basically all the biomes
also the models looks very simple and pretty janky there would definitely be a lot of z fighting all the trees are the same the volcano is also not very tall and just made out of parts and i recommend removing the walls from the rocky area
i would recommend you learn how to use blender since it would make this so much better the trees could look a lot better you could add variants and even making the ground not just a circle could help blender is great for making some smaller decorations to add variation like some small rocks or grass there are many tutorials on youtube on how to use blender
you should also extend the water since it kinda just ends of and if your at the max part size just use meshes or connect a bunch of squares together since it wont make a difference if you cant see the end
Also, you said you’re going for a realistic style? using parts isnt always the most realistic ofc it can be but for a battle royale i recommend using real terrain it’s much easier to make bigger maps and it looks alot better
i personally like low poly builds and not as much realism so i usually use meshes like little hills so if your going for a more low poly feel then you could do that
you can also use pbr textures if your going for realistic there many good ones online that you can find
or if your going for cartoony then you can find some great free texture packs
change the lighting to its very grayed out and doesn’t look the best you could make it more vibrant if your going for cartoony or if you going for realistic then you could also do that
for map layout and stuff like that you should have most the islands mostly connected since if there is only one way to get to them then that’s not the best gameplay
anyways that mostly everything just adds some height variation whether its real terrain or lower poly any height variation is great. learn blender and make some new models add some smaller details around so the map is more interesting. extend the water out
and also change the lighting it’s a little grayed out
Hope this helps
Note: if your game isn’t a battle royale most of these tips still apply don’t worry
Ok, so in that case I think you may want to use custom textures (that remain simple), maybe adding a little more to trees and such.
It’s based off of slap battles.
And btw, the biomes are not supposed to blend in with each other, it’s not supposed to look natural.
ok the map makes a little more sense for a slap battles game but now it seems too big
I think some height elevation maybe not a sudden change but just some hills would still help
and most the other feedback still applies
Well in slap battles you slap each other, which is more of a melee concept, but in this you’re supposed to throw things, which would be more relevant to have a big map.
