Hello!
I have three hinge constraints nested within eachother. Please find image Attached:
The image shows an automated lighting fixture. Individual Pan and Tilt constraints (in green) allow the unit to move (a little like a turret) in order to reposition The yoke pans (which subsequently pans the head) and the head tilts independantly. This all works perfectly besides from what’s up next:
the third constraint (in Red) pans some templates within the light-path. These create patterns and the existing effect is very desirable. Unfortunately, in trying to rotate these patterns (which by the way - works very desirably), the tilt-constraint becomes jammed. (pan still operational). In disabling the pattern panning constraint, tilt immediately springs into life and operates as expected. Re-enabling it forces the unit to return to pointing directly downwards (like you can see in the pic) with no use of the tilt once again.
It feels as if the tilt mechanism is becoming somehow jammed on the patterns (these small bricks within the light). Everything is set to ‘non-collisions’ so I’m confused why I’m getting issues. the only other thing I can guess is that 3 nested constraints is too much for the system?
The goal is to have these 3 constraints working independantly. Like i mentioned the main unit Pan and Tilt work well before adding the Pattern-Rotation constraint.
if anyone has any wisdom on this matter - I’d love to hear.
Thank you in advance.
Elliot.
