Multiple of our Games Impressions by Thumbnail Dropped to 0 Without Warning

I own two games that have recently had their impressions by thumbnail dropped to zero. Our retention, purchase, and playtime statistics are all satisfactory and this seems to be a bug. This is troubling to see because we have lost 100s of CCUs on our game as a result of this bug which adds stress to our already small studio.

We received no warning messages from staff, the questionnaire is up to date, and the QPTR is exceeding 1%, there was also no banner on the analytics page.

Game 1 (Universe ID: 9897459557): 🌸 Character AI: Futurisma | Play on Roblox
Game 2 (Universe ID: 9482469690): 🗣️ Chat with Character AIs | Play on Roblox

Neither game meets any criteria of the list of items for “Issues that limit exposure” (https://create.roblox.com/docs/discovery#issues-that-limit-exposure). My belief is that the game has been flagged as a false positive as perhaps meeting these criteria and so the exposure by the ROBLOX algorithm has been removed.

Expected behavior

For the games to be reviewed and exposure for thumbnails to be re-activated for these two experiences.

If there is a legitimate reason, which I could not find any that match any ROBLOX documentation, then for that to be described as well as a recommended fix.

Staff had previously told other creators experiencing reduced exposure several times that they shouldn’t create a bug report for this, as they “do not perform re-reviews based on DevForum posts”:

As they also stated, you can file a report at Roblox Support under the category Bug Report > Discovery Content Quality if you believe this is an error.

This is very likely a result of the changes they made to the Terms of Use (the changes haven’t taken effect yet, however, it’s clear from their stance that the issue you’re experiencing could be an indirect result of this) regarding artificial intelligence; they are not prioritizing related content and even for creators they added a bunch of requirements if your game includes AI interactions, along with organizing all disclaimers and related notices.

I went into your game https://www.roblox.com/games/78250871360699/Chat-with-Character-AIs and saw that it does not comply with Roblox’s updated Terms of Use (which are not currently in effect and will take effect on April 30, 2026, but your game does not currently provide clear disclosures to Users that the AI is not human), and not to mention I can have weird interactions with the AI like what the hell: :skull_and_crossbones::skull_and_crossbones::face_vomiting:

According to Roblox’s updated Terms of Use, Creator Terms Section 6(2)(2), you must provide Users with clear disclosures about your use of AI or their use of AI through your Experience:

  • (6)(2)(2)(1) → You must clearly state that the AI is not human
  • (6)(2)(2)(2) → You must state that AI output is artificially generated, does not represent the views or advice of a human and may be inaccurate
  • (6)(2)(2)(3) → If applicable, you must clearly disclose that the User is interacting with an AI-based chatbot or virtual agent before or at the commencement of such interaction”

Also, according to Creator Terms (6)(3)(1) you may not mislead Users into believing that AI output is human. According to Creator Terms (6)(3)(2) you may not use any AI for direct interaction with Users if it is not made immediately apparent from the interaction or the circumstances that Users are interacting with an AI system.

All in all, restricting impressions accordingly makes sense in my opinion because they are clearly avoiding promoting this kind of content.. They might as well update the documentation on “Issues that limit exposure” to reflect their “vision” :face_vomiting::folded_hands:t2:

But it might just be the thumbnail itself; like, what is this :skull_and_crossbones::skull_and_crossbones:

Thanks for that history and feedback. The game does have a clear disclaimer in the game, the experience name and the experience’s description but we will work to improve the visibility of those things. We are fully compliant with all requirements of an AI interaction experience.

if i were you i would still just wait for a staff member’s reply since they’re just gonna ignore me and maybe they would fix the situation, it might be because of different stuff

I made a ticket before the post and they responded so it should be good. By the way, those new terms of service are not enacted until April 30th so please do not cite those here. The thumbnail is also not the issue. Both were compliant otherwise it would have been deleted but I swapped it out anyways to try. Thank you though again.

Still having the same issue, no relevant updates on the other thread either.

@Th3_avocad0 please can you review these games manually and fix?
