I want to share what happened with my Roblox account, @IRowzu, because I believe it was completely unfair, and I need guidance to resolve it.
Today, at 16:00 hours, my account was suddenly deleted. The stated reason was that I uploaded a model that included a script generated by ChatGPT, allegedly for copyright infringement. This doesn’t make sense, because the script is original from ChatGPT and does not infringe anyone’s rights, and I never intended to violate any rules or harm anyone.
As a result, I lost a group with over 8,000 Robux, and my account had 6,000 Robux. All the progress and effort I invested in Roblox was lost unfairly. I have previously complained in the forums about unjust automated bans, and I feel this is another case of an error by the system.
I am appealing from another account and am looking for any help or advice on how I can recover my account and group. Any guidance, contact, or support would be invaluable, as I truly want to continue being a responsible member of the community.
I really appreciate you taking the time to read my case and hope someone can guide me on the steps to follow. This means a lot to me, and I just want to recover what I lost fairly.
It was a script I made myself, but since I encountered an error, I asked someone to help me, and later, to avoid losing the script, I uploaded it to my inventory.
Nothing ChatGPT generates is original. The very definition of AIs is that they’re generative models. They create new outputs by analyzing and combining patterns from massive amounts of existing human-made content.
I find it hard to believe you were terminated for AI-assisted scripts, especially those mostly written by yourself. Good luck appealing anything on Roblox though.
Thank you so much for your perspective. I’ll start taking it into account. I posted my scripts because I had them ready to use on different projects, and it helps me get them more quickly.
From looking at this I dont think it was the AI code.
It was most likely something else, as it says someone requested a copyright takedown, meaning they’d have to know the exact code the AI generated and somehow prove they own it, along with other reasons, therefore its really unlikely its related to the AI code.
Have you been using any free models as of late? Has anyone given you any assets that you’ve used in your projects, along with do you know of any past projects that contained assets that could be potentially copyrighted? This is most likely how this occurred, and its most likely in a published game you own considering someone would have to see it in order to know you have it
I thought the same—it could have been someone, but if they had been upset, they could have just talked to me and I would have removed the model. But to go as far as deleting my account… I’m sure I didn’t do anything wrong, really nothing wrong. It was just a system in which the artificial intelligence guided me step by step.
Roblox does not enforce regular copyright protection onto purely script assets (that would be impossible from the current understanding of their systems-- and stupid.) Roblox, however, does enforce backdoor protection (which would have been a different moderation message) and possibly clone protection (wherein identical assets are deleted). Either of these don’t fully fit the criteria of the ban message you received. What would have had to happen is that something on the library was in resemblance of some other evidence enough for them to enforce DMCA moderation, whether it was a decal, mesh, or otherwise.
The best thing you can do is identify the asset mentioned to fully understand the situation.
You should also open a Roblox support ticket requesting the sender’s DMCA notice, which should provide the evidence used for the takedown.
Unfortunately, thanks to US laws(?), DMCA moderation is notoriously shitty, and generally they do not budge without a formal counter-notice (which requires you to fully submit your own sensitive personal information-- which is then handed over to the requestee.
It is unlikely that this has anything to do with AI-generated code unless it was somehow explicitly stated that ChatGPT generated the script and OpenAI decided to strike you in particular
I have no idea how you’d go about appealing this, I think you can do what @A_Mp5 said, if you want guidance you should probably ask them instead of me lol
