My First Ever Game!

I just finished my first ever game and would like some feedback to improve it where I can, thanks!
Game: Monitor

  1. this might just be a personal opinion, but the in-game font doesn’t look that great, i would change it to something more appealing

  2. there should be a limit on how many markers you can place to make the game more challenging

  3. a perfect way to make robux from your game is to make it cost a certain amount to the end the game so either users stay intrigued with the same maze and persevere through it or they give up and buy a new map generation

aside from the stated, cool game!

I like it, very creative.

  1. I dont see any threats
-Why am I going through a maze
    -What challenges can I solve
-What is making me stay in the game
  2. As max just said, you can crash the game by placing to many markers, so add a limit or a cooldown (I would suggest limit)
  3. Maybe add hits, I cant judge myself, but it was pretty difficult to solve
  4. What if some troll player hits Q while people are trying to play the game, maybe have a vote quit.

This is very good for a first game, I wish you the best of luck going forward!

Where badges? Badges are nice to have.

So, I suggest maybe something for singleplayer since it was boring and hard for me alone.

It looks good though

Quick update: Thank you all for the feedback and suggestions, I have made it so quitting is now a voting system, markers (only available in singleplayer) now turn from pink to green to red depending on distance to the closest exit, markers also now have a cap of 300, and I fixed a bug where the halls wouldn’t line up for the monitor and maze runner
I am working on badges, and puzzles to solve before you can exit the maze, I also have the idea of adding more themes, a leaderboard for best times, monetizing the game, and of course adding a tutorial.
Thanks again for all the ideas! And please don’t hesitate to notify me of any and all bugs / glitches!

I just want to see what the exit door looks like do you mind sending a screenshot?
Game is decent could be better with a monster that would really tie in the horror.

This is a good game i feel you could improve the lighting a bit also when found the exit nothing happened i touched the white neon and nothing happened

it took me 23 minutes to find the exit the game is hard to learn without reading the description so i suggest a how to play button that says what the markers do in the how to play menu

Update time! Added Tutorial (a wall of text for rn), major bug fixes, removed smoke from the map with pipes, sound effects/ambience, (hopefully) fixed bug where game wouldn’t end, new map, and that’s it I think. Thanks all for your help, and I hope to continue and improve! As always, mention any and all bugs/glitches in the replies. Thanks again!

Wow! The game is great, especially for a first one. It took about 9 minutes to finish. The only thing I noticed was that the timer is missing 0s in some places, like in the picture below it should be

00:06:05

but instead, it shows

0:6:5

Other than that, Im really impressed! Great job!

Reduce the vertices of the meshes, more vertices = more the game becomes lag

I found a few more things:

  • The voting system lets you vote multiple times…
  • When you’re chatting and you say the letter “q” or “t” it fires the inputBegan, that’s a big one
  • Every once in a while I get spawned in a map that has 2 dead ends on either side and is just one hallway for the whole map
  • You need to add a tutorial for the monitor specifically, it took me a while to understand that the player is between the cracks and that the blues are exits.

Average robloxian’s experience:

Update! Added detection so player cannot vote twice, typing “q”, “t”, or “e” in chat will no longer cause their actions to happen. Added a line to Monitor section of tutorial. Made clock have more 0’s. Thanks for your continued bug finding!
